The climactic Episode 16 of "Good Boy" kicks off with Yeon-ha's stark reminder of Ju-yeong's formidable and erratic strength—a power capable of levelling Insung City to the ground. This recap brings us to the thrilling juncture from the previous episode, where the truck erupted in a blazing cataclysm, prompting the team to dash for safety with mere seconds to spare. As the inferno engulfed the scene, it marked merely the beginning of the chaos.
Three more trucks scattered across Insung City follow suit, detonating with catastrophic force. Ju-yeong, possessing nothing left to hold him back, emerges as a terrifyingly unpredictable adversary.
In the aftermath of the explosion, Man-sik experiences a life-flashing-before-his-eyes moment, gratitude welling up within him for the chance to return to Jeong-a's side. However, Dong-ju's mood is far from jubilant. He storms into the Commissioner's office, demanding accountability for the actions that have led to this dire situation.
Eventually, Pan-yeol relents, confessing that numerous high-ranking officials in Insung have been in cahoots with Ju-yeong for years. Untangling these deeply ingrained connections, he admits, will be an uphill battle.
What startling revelation does Yeon-ha disclose? Nonetheless, the present circumstances demand their immediate attention as another undetonated truck poses a dire threat, its whereabouts unknown. The sole individual who might hold the key to this puzzle is Yeon-ha, prompting the team to once again interrogate her, a scenario reminiscent of past encounters.
Yeon-ha unearths an unexpected link to Kim Yu-na, a member of the Customs Office who harbors a secret admiration for Ju-yeong. By locating Yu-na, they hope to draw Ju-yeong into their net as well. Indeed, they find Yu-na, who confesses to having been persuaded to flee the country alongside Ju-yeong, with plans to rendezvous at the Victory Hotel. The group seizes this opportunity to entice Ju-yeong into their trap.
Yet, they are not the sole hunters in pursuit of Ju-yeong, as the Yakuza also lurks in the shadows. Having attempted and failed to broker a deal with the Yakuza, Ju-yeong has incited their bloodlust, placing anyone associated with him in peril. Adding to the tension, Ju-yeong is set to hold a shareholder meeting at the Victory Hotel, which he owns and currently occupies.
What devious scheme does Ju-yeong concoct within the hotel walls? When Ju-yeong fails to appear, Dong-ju's instincts tingle with suspicion, urging the group to remain vigilant. Doubts about Yu-na's honesty surface, and these are swiftly confirmed. Sodium cyanide powder discovered on the hotel floor and Yu-na's abrupt departure in a taxi suggest Ju-yeong's intention to detonate the hotel during the shareholder meeting, massacre all present officials in one fell swoop.
Realizing the dire need for evacuation, the group strives to persuade the shareholders to flee. Initially skeptical, the shareholders' belief shifts when the lights plunge into darkness and a toxic gas cascades from the ceiling. Through Dong-ju's daring escape through a window and the group's descent via the emergency staircase, they narrowly avoid catastrophe. However, their journey is not solitary, as Han-na's reinforcement call elevates Pan-yeol to hero status, rescuing all of Insung.
What unfolds for Ju-yeong is a defining moment where he resolves to do what's just, confronting crime and corruption head-on, essentially declaring an all-out war against the malevolent forces pervading the city, and inadvertently, against himself. Ironically, it isn't the police who lay claim to discovering Ju-yeong first; it's the ominous presence of the Yakuza. As Ju-yeong prepares to escape aboard a foreign vessel by the docks, the Yakuza thugs corner him. They brutalize him mercilessly until Jong-hyeon and Dong-ju arrive at the same warehouse, deciding to take him into custody.
A fierce battle ensues with the Yakuza, as well as Mr. Baek and the remnants of his hoodlum crew stationed outside. In the midst of the melee, Baek is apprehended for interrogation, while Dong-ju finds himself consistently outwitted by Ju-yeong, who, in a desperate bid for freedom, leaps overboard attempting to drown himself. Yet, beneath the water's surface, Dong-ju manages to handcuff him and hauls him back to shore, somehow accomplishing this feat far removed from the vessel from which they both plunged. Nonetheless, the crucial outcome is Ju-yeong's capture.
Regarding the conclusion of "Good Boy," Dong-ju embarks on a rehabilitation journey to address his issues, with Han-na steadfastly by his side offering unwavering support. Dong-ju visits Ju-yeong, boasting about his return to work and his recent promotion. Ju-yeong counters with a bleak outlook, asserting that nothing will change despite his incarceration; corruption remains as rampant as ever. Dong-ju dismisses his cynicism, but Ju-yeong's pessimism proves haunting that night when a prison guard arrives and chokeholds him, rendering him unconscious.
As for the rest of the team, they are hailed for their triumphs and bask in the glow of their accomplishments. Everyone appears to be thriving, and to add to the joy, Man-sik discovers that his wife is expecting, bringing a new wave of happiness to their lives!
