In the riveting second episode of "Good Boy," the narrative intensifies as star athletes clash with a relentless gang of thugs and criminals. Dong-ju emerges victorious, masterfully outmaneuvering the entire gang within the dimly lit confines of a warehouse, ultimately vanquishing the notorious Golden Bunny. Concurrently, Man-sik arrives on the scene with reinforcing officers, apprehending the entire gang and propelling Dong-ju into instant heroism, his triumph over the Golden Bunny cementing his legend.
Elsewhere, Han-na defends herself with remarkable precision, shooting her attackers only to reveal later that they were hit with harmless paintballs when Jong-hyun discovers them sprawled across her living room floor.
At the precinct, the athlete squad's reputation skyrockets, turning them into overnight sensations. As the night descends, Dong-ju encounters his brother on his way home, the signs of drug addiction painfully evident on his brother's frazzled visage. Dong-ju passionately urges him to undergo a life-altering surgery, but in the dead of night, his brother vanishes, fueling Dong-ju's suspicion that his former coach, the very man who introduced his brother to drugs, is behind his disappearance.
The following day, sensing a golden opportunity to capitalize on their newfound fame, Man-sik persuades the commissioner to assemble a special task force comprising professional athletes to tackle criminal cases. To their delight, they are granted their own secluded cabin. The team, brimming with excitement, is eager to finally venture into the field, with the exception of Jong-hyun, who harbors reservations.
As Dong-ju grilled the Golden Bunny, his eyes were drawn to the shimmering golden watch adorning the suspect's wrist—an identical replica to the one worn by the hit-and-run perpetrator. However, their interrogation was abruptly halted when they uncovered a startling revelation: the commissioner had assembled the special unit more as a publicity gimmick than a genuine investigative force. The athletes found themselves thrust into the spotlight at a public event, where the commissioner showcased a new range of bulletproof and knife-proof jackets. He patronizingly tasked Han-na with demonstrating the jackets' efficacy by shooting at dummy targets. Frustration boiling over, Han-na spun around and discharged her weapon directly at the commissioner, fracturing one of his ribs in the process. Following this dramatic turn of events, Han-na tendered her resignation.
In a bid to shield Han-na from repercussions, Jong-hyun proposed that the commissioner portray the incident as a premeditated stunt. To his surprise, the commissioner concurred.
The subsequent day, with Han-na conspicuously absent, Man-sik received a tip-off about the individuals who had absconded with the crucial documents. He embarked on the trail, accompanied by Dong-ju and Jae-hong, and was soon joined by Jong-hyun, who had received a separate lead. However, the operation took an unexpected turn when Man-sik, unknowingly ingesting a drugged candy, became disoriented and inadvertently alerted the gangsters to their presence. This set off a comically chaotic pursuit, with Man-sik acting like a zombie and inadvertently terrifying the thugs into retreat.
Amidst the bedlam, Jong-hyun engaged in a fierce struggle with one of the thugs over the documents, but was gripped by a panic attack evoked by a harrowing memory of a past fencing match. Just as the thug lunged to stab Jong-hyun, Man-sik, still under the influence, stepped in and bore the blow intended for Jong-hyun.
Ultimately, the thug managed to escape with the documents, prompting Dong-ju to rush a disoriented Man-sik to the hospital. Amidst a traffic jam, Dong-ju was forced to push Man-sik in a shopping cart for an arduous 30-minute journey.
Elsewhere, Dong-ju's brother, Gyeong-il, was enduring brutal torture at the hands of a ruthless man who demanded a confession for the hit-and-run. Additionally, it emerged that Dong-ju's former coach was entwined in the intricate web of the case.
The following day, as Dong-ju steps back into the office, his eyes are met with a sight that sends a chill down his spine: Gyeong-il, in the grasp of the authorities, having surrendered to his guilt. Dong-ju, mindful of their mother's fragile state, decides to shield her from this harrowing revelation.
Later, he attends the solemn funeral of the hit-and-run victim, his heart heavy with grief and determination. Amidst the sea of mourners, his gaze locks onto someone's wrist, adorned with a watch identical to the one he had noticed on the fleeing driver's arm that fateful night. With a sense of urgency, Dong-ju secures the list of attendees and embarks on a meticulous search through the customs department, where the deceased once toiled. After painstaking scrutiny, he uncovers the true perpetrator behind the hit-and-run – Min Ju-yeong, the mastermind who had coerced an innocent Gyeong-il into bearing the brunt of his sinister deed.
