Grey’s Anatomy - Season 20 Episode 6 1

Yasuda and Teddy rush to attend to Mr. Jimenez, a prisoner brought to the hospital under suspicion of tuberculosis. Teddy listens intently to his chest, urgently requesting the removal of his handcuffs. Meanwhile, Yasuda notices the intricate tattoos adorning Jimenez's skin. However, tests reveal a devastating truth - a cancer that has aggressively spread to his liver, spine, pelvis, adrenal glands, and beyond. It's a grim prognosis, one where surgery is no longer a viable option.

With utmost compassion, Yasuda breaks the news to Jimenez, explaining that his condition is terminal, leaving him with mere months to live. Though medication could extend his life by a few agonizing months, Jimenez refuses the treatment, choosing instead to live his remaining days in peace. Yasuda suggests a clinical trial, but Teddy shakes her head, believing that alleviating Jimenez's pain and understanding his wishes is the most humane course of action. As Jimenez is escorted back to prison, Ndugu informs him that he has submitted the necessary paperwork for Jimenez's compassionate release.

Meanwhile, Jules provides an update on Misty Valentine's situation. A young girl who underwent an above-the-knee amputation two years ago due to a motor vehicle accident, Misty is now enduring unbearable pain from the socket connecting her residual limb to her prosthesis. This pain is severely affecting her mobility and overall quality of life.

Despite Misty's tragic accident, her parents remain steadfast in their belief that she can fulfill her aspiration of competing in the Seattle Grand Prix century race next year. The proposed solution hinted at a refinement of Misty's amputated limb, aiming to enhance the fit of her prosthesis, alleviate her pain, and boost her mobility. Catherine Fox underscores her need for Misty to walk freely without any discomfort.

Link introduces the concept of osseointegration, a procedure that involves embedding a titanium rod into Misty's bone and seamlessly attaching it to her prosthesis. However, Beltran harbors doubts, fearing Misty's youth and suspecting Link's proposal as a bid to impress Catherine Fox. She only endorses the surgery if Misty herself gives her consent.

Link carefully explains the intricacies of the procedure to Misty and her parents, and they unanimously agree to proceed. The surgery commences but encounters an unexpected challenge. To ensure the prosthesis functions optimally, Link must remove a significant portion of Misty's femur. After a thorough discussion with Misty's parents, they grant their approval. The operation progresses smoothly, and Misty is elated to learn that she'll be able to walk and cycle without any debilitating pain.

Meanwhile, Webber attends to Dorian, a patient grappling with anemia. The incessant tests and beeping machines irritate Dorian, fueling his desire to return home. Simon attempts to draw blood for testing, but Dorian, frustrated, refuses and sends him away. Nonetheless, Warren insists that Simon persist as Dorian's life hinges on those crucial blood results.

The situation escalates when Dorian collapses and begins vomiting blood. It turns out he's experiencing an upper GI bleed stemming from an ulcer. Thanks to Webber's expertise, Dorian manages to pull through. Upon waking, Dorian realizes the doctors' intentions are purely benevolent and agrees to cooperate with their treatment plan.
