The fourth episode of Hazbin Hotel commences with Vaggie desperately imploring Charlie to abandon her quest to dismantle the misconceptions surrounding her. Her entreaties fall on deaf ears, as Niffty and Charlie embark on their live TV interview with Katie Killjoy, who promptly seizes control of the conversation and undermines Charlie at every turn. Katie even resorts to discrediting Charlie by playing a clip of the runaway train incident (albeit off-screen, but the implications are palpable), spinning her into a dizzying whirlwind of exasperation.
Despite Niffty's adorable singing number, public sentiment remains unmoved. Meanwhile, Alastor and Lucifer engage in a heated exchange that culminates in Alastor's resignation and departure from the hotel. He makes his way to Rosie, who reveals more about his past.
In his heyday, Alastor was a charismatic hustler who dazzled yuppies and producers alike. He rose to fame as the star of his own radio show, the toast of New Orleans. However, behind the cameras, he was a mass murderer, aware of his impending fate in Hell. With a pentagram etched on the ground and sacrifices made, he struck a deal with Rosie to secure himself among the highest ranks of demons and continue his merry ways. But in exchange, he had to do something for her.
Unfortunately, despite shaking on the deal, the very next day Alastor was mistaken for a deer and shot dead. He lost his bet and now finds himself Rosie's prisoner.
Determined to rectify his own predicament, Alastor calls out Vox, Velvette, and Valentino in the streets, where a massive brawl erupts.
As Niffty learns of Alastor's predicament, she springs into action, racing out of town with Husk to turn the tide of the conflict. Amidst the whirlwind of this massive battle, Alastor makes a proposition to Vox and his minions. In exchange for joining their propaganda parade and becoming their captive, he offers Niffty and Husk their freedom and asks Vox to leave Charlie Morningstar unscathed. Vox, with a mischievous chuckle, readily agrees to the terms, sending ratings for Voxtek skyrocketing. The underlying truth is that Alastor and Vox once shared a close bond in their past. Vox revered Alastor and aspired to rule Hell alongside him as partners. Alastor, however, dismissed the idea with a snub and even laughed in his face, which Vox undoubtedly took personally. In the present, while Valentino lies on the bed, he urges the two to just "get it on" and even offers to film the act!
