Back at the precinct, they initiate contact with the woman's boyfriend, whose advanced age stands in stark contrast to her youthful vibrancy. It transpires that the woman, Penny, had woven a web of deceit, concealing her true identity from the much older man she was entangled with.

Morgan and Karadec then trek to Penny's abode, where her landlord unburdens a piece of her past – her former boyfriend, deceased for two years. The detectives delve deeper, uncovering an array of luxurious dresses and a stack of credit card bills that hint at an underlying mystery. Furthermore, they piece together that Penny had been doggedly pursuing the truth behind her late boyfriend's murder, even resorting to placing a bold billboard soliciting leads. Her relationship with the older man was a calculated move to infiltrate an exclusive club where her deceased lover once worked as a tennis instructor.

The detectives venture into the club's hallowed halls but emerge with little more than a shadowy suspicion – Blaine, one of the club's owners, who Penny had fingered as her boyfriend's possible killer. Blaine's background, tainted with a history of drug abuse and a tarnished reputation, only fuels the intrigue.

Meanwhile, in the hospital, Penny's fragile grasp on consciousness flickers back to life, yet she remains incapacitated, unable to pinpoint her assailant who struck her from behind. Revisiting her boyfriend's case with scrutiny, Morgan notices a telltale clue – tiny grains of rice embedded in his head wounds, suggesting a grim possibility: he might have been brutally slain elsewhere before being cruelly dumped on the beach.

During their thorough investigation at the club, Morgan's gaze fell upon a necklace that bore a striking resemblance to Penny's cherished piece—a token bestowed by her deceased lover just a week prior to his untimely demise. It transpired that Blaine's married paramour had bestowed the authentic necklace upon Penny's beau as a hush money to silence him about their clandestine affair, while retaining a meticulous replica for herself.

Unable to shake off the haunting memories of the unsolved mystery, Morgan ventured to Karadec's abode, where they delved into the night, relentlessly searching for any hint that might unravel the case. Eventually, Morgan's perseverance paid off, and the puzzle pieces fell into place. The culprit, revealed to be Blaine's brother Edward, had brutally struck Penny's sweetheart with a snow globe (thus explaining the enigmatic floating rice grains scattered at the scene). Motivated by a protective instinct for Blaine, Edward had also set his sights on Penny, luring her to the secluded beach by masquerading as an informant.

In a swift response, the police swooped down on the club, but Edward, sensing the impending doom, fled to the precipice overlooking the beach. Leveraging Blaine's influence, the police orchestrated a delicate negotiation, coaxing Edward to descend from his perilous perch. With his resistance crumbling, Edward was subsequently apprehended.

As the episode drew to a close, Morgan finally embarked on a long-awaited dinner date with Tom, savoring each fleeting moment. Afterwards, she made her way to visit Selena, who revealed a intriguing tidbit—Roman had been meeting with a concierge who might hold the key to unraveling more about his enigmatic past.
