Episode 4 of "Hotel Costiera" opens with a clandestine arrival. Hassan, a young Libyan boy, stealthily slips into a delivery van and finds himself at the doors of Hotel Costiera. Seeking Daniel, he is instead comforted by Genny, who takes him under her wing.
Meanwhile, in the shadows, a thug observes as Bruno dashes away, only to be swiftly apprehended by Daniel. Bruno initially plays dumb, but then, in a moment of apparent vulnerability, he confesses his affection for Alice and his own quest to find her. He discloses that Augusto had thrown her out.
Daniel, determined, confronts Augusto, who reluctantly admits that Alice had demanded money but refused to work. Yet, Daniel perceives a hidden care in Augusto's eyes and vows to track Alice down.
Turning his attention back to Hassan, Daniel faces resistance from Adele, who is reluctant to have the boy stay at the hotel and calls Child Protective Services (CPS). Sensing danger, Hassan recognizes the CPS officer and flees into hiding. Daniel, with a keen eye, quickly deduces that the CPS representative is a fraud and the accompanying police officer is corrupt. He promptly sends the imposters packing.
Still shaken, Daniel and Genny work to comfort Hassan, coaxing him out of his shell. Together, they engage in the delicate art of origami and take refreshing dips in the pool. Genny, ever inquisitive, probes Daniel about his romantic life. He opens up, revealing his fear of commitment, rooted in a desire not to repeat the mistakes of his own father and become a bad parent. That night, he is plagued by a nightmare where a Middle-Eastern family, bearing a child reminiscent of Hassan, glares at him accusingly.
The team rallies together, determined to locate Hassan's mother, Amina. Through questioning the delivery personnel, they uncover a new lead: a seller named Edoardo Albertini, who turns out to be the very man masquerading as the CPS officer.
As Daniel and his companions set off for Albertini's farm, the corrupt police officer makes an unwelcome appearance at the hotel. Genny, however, proves her mettle, holding down the fort and intimidating the officer into retreat by dropping names of her influential acquaintances.
At Albertini's estate, the men stumble upon a grim scene: guards are herding illegal immigrant workers like cattle. Seizing the moment, Bigne and Tancredi create a diversion, drawing the guards' attention away, while Daniel slips past them to find Amina, who is confined in a locked room. He swiftly rescues her and, without hesitation, calls the police. The authorities arrive promptly, apprehending the guards, Albertini himself, and a corrupt officer in the process.
Amina, her voice trembling with a mix of fear and relief, reveals that Hassan had witnessed Albertini murdering a worker. Fearing for his life, Hassan fled, and Amina, who had aided his escape, was subsequently imprisoned by Albertini. She also discloses that she recognizes Daniel; she had worked at the hotel the previous year, making them acquaintances of sorts.
In a heartwarming reunion, mother and son embrace at the hotel, their bond strengthened by the trials they've endured. Meanwhile, Augusto steps in to take charge of Albertini's farm, ensuring that the workers do not lose their livelihoods. He vows to improve their working conditions, a promise that brings a glimmer of hope to their weary eyes.
Shifting gears to the Alice mystery, Bruno, with a grave expression, reveals that Alice had found solace in Marinella, a place where she felt safe. Eager for answers, he and Daniel pay a visit to Adele. The encounter turns volatile as Adele, fueled by anger and grief, attempts to lash out at Bruno for his perceived role in Alice's ordeal. Daniel, caught in the middle, tries to intervene, but in the ensuing chaos, Bruno deftly swipes Adele's phone.
Upon examining the device, Daniel discovers that Marinella is an abandoned resort from Alice's childhood, a place frozen in time. His heart sinks as he realizes Alice is indeed hiding out there. However, when he reaches out to her, she assures him that she's on her way home, her voice carrying a hint of optimism.
Bruno and Daniel rush to Marinella, their hearts pounding with anticipation. But they arrive too late. The thug, having somehow intercepted Bruno's ill-fated text sent from Adele's phone, has already spirited Alice away. Daniel's fury erupts as he confronts Bruno, the weight of betrayal and helplessness crushing down on him.
