Se-na introduces herself to Ra-ik and explains that she works for Cheon-un Law Firm, which handles all legal matters for Goldie Entertainment, the agency managing Ra-ik's boy group, Golden Boys. She confronts Ra-ik about the murder of his bandmate and friend, Woo-seong. Ra-ik grows visibly upset with both her questioning and the police interrogation. Overwhelmed by everything happening to him, he breaks down in tears and insists that he did not kill Woo-seong.

Se-na asks him to recount the events of the previous night to identify possible suspects. Ra-ik recalls finding two obsessed fans inside his apartment who threatened him and promised to ruin his life. He explains the concept of sasaengs and angrily curses them out. Despite being a lawyer, the fangirl in Se-na is shocked to hear Ra-ik swear so openly.
After the interrogation, Se-na runs into a colleague who accuses her of trying to steal his client. He tells her to back off, reminding her that he manages all of Goldie Entertainment's cases, and she agrees. As Se-na leaves the police station, she is flooded with memories from her high school years.
She recalls being relentlessly bullied and reaching a point where she wanted to end her life. A younger Se-na stands on the edge of a river, about to drown herself, when she hears a young Ra-ik singing nearby. His voice reminds her of her father, and she decides to live.
After dropping out of high school, Se-na earns her GED and works tirelessly to become a lawyer. Years later, she learns of Ra-ik's debut and has supported him since his rookie days.
In the present, Se-na finds herself questioning the trust she's held for Ra-ik for years as a devoted fan. She realizes that she doesn't truly know who he is beneath the surface. Meanwhile, Detective Nam-sik and his subordinate are attempting to coerce Ra-ik into a plea deal, urging him to admit guilt before the prosecution moves forward.
The next day at Cheon-un Law Firm, Se-na confronts Ra-ik's assigned attorney for his lackluster defense. He reveals that the prosecutor is Kwak Byeong-kyun, the heir of a powerful family of prosecutors, and admits that he fears being blacklisted if he opposes him. Se-na considers this information and goes to see Ra-ik again. On her way, she encounters fans protesting outside Goldie Entertainment. While some continue to support Ra-ik, most demand justice for Woo-seong.
Inside the agency, CEO Geun Bo-sang speaks with Jae-hee and Young-bin, the remaining Golden Boys members. Jae-hee remains furious with Ra-ik, while Bo-sang wonders if Ra-ik might also be a victim. Bo-sang receives a call from an old reporter friend who reveals that Ra-ik's ex-girlfriend, Hye-joo, attended the fan meeting the previous day and could be linked to the murder. The revelation shocks him.
At the station, Se-na directly confronts Ra-ik, asking if he killed Woo-seong and urging him to be certain. Ra-ik firmly repeats that he did not. Se-na realizes he is telling the truth and recalls watching him act in the past, remembering how poor his acting was.
Before officially agreeing to represent him, Se-na makes a proposition. Ra-ik later meets with his manager, who informs him that Goldie Entertainment is terminating his contract and cannot support him financially. The prosecution formally files a case, and the agency announces his contract termination at a press conference.
Ra-ik encounters other defense lawyers, all of whom decline to take on his case. Se-na then receives a call from her colleague confirming that Ra-ik has agreed for her to represent him. Before meeting Ra-ik again, Se-na decides to inspect his apartment. There, she encounters Byeong-kyun, and they discuss how Ra-ik was the sole person officially present at the time of Woo-seong's death.
Byeong-kyun insists that there's no way to prove Ra-ik's innocence. As he speaks, Se-na notices a mole on his neck and realizes he is the same person who bullied her in high school. Furious, she leaves without another word.
Back at the law firm, Se-na's boss, Gwang-soo, scolds her for taking on such a complicated case. She asks him to trust her and give her full control. A junior lawyer, Ye-sol, requests to join the defense team because she is a fan. Se-na does not admit that she is also a fan but asks Ye-sol to sign an NDA before joining the investigation.
Chun-jae tracks down the two sasaengs and brings Se-na to them. Se-na confronts the girls and learns that they followed Ra-ik home, avoided CCTV cameras, used the stairwell to reach his floor, and hid while trying to figure out his door passcode.
The girls admit they returned the next day and hid inside the apartment again. They claim their actions were driven by love, but Se-na argues that obsession is not love.
The next day, Ra-ik attends his first court hearing. Se-na tells him to hold his head high because he is innocent. Ra-ik admits he has no memory of the night Woo-seong was killed and fears he may have harmed his friend unknowingly. Se-na reassures him and promises to see him walk free.
During the hearing, Se-na argues that the apartment had been compromised by the intruding fans and that anyone could have entered to commit the murder. She points out that the prosecution has failed to present a murder weapon. Byeong-kyun claims the weapon details are confidential due to ongoing forensic analysis.
Se-na counters by highlighting that Ra-ik was asked what he had been searching for in his home, suggesting the real culprit was unfamiliar with the apartment. Since Ra-ik lived there, she argues, he would not need to search for anything. When Byeong-kyun confirms this detail, Se-na requests that Ra-ik be released and allowed to return home until concrete evidence emerges.
Outside the courtroom, Byeong-kyun confronts Se-na, but she dismisses him and walks away. He later scolds Detective Nam-sik for overlooking the detail she exposed.
Se-na offers to take Ra-ik home, only to realize he has nowhere to go. During the drive, Ra-ik asks her to stop the car and walks to a nearby bus stop, where he finds his photos defaced. Hurt, he visits Woo-seong's apartment in the same complex but cannot bring himself to enter. He sits in a park, drinks, and reminisces about their pre-debut days. Exhausted, Ra-ik passes out, and Se-na, who has been following him, takes him to her home.
