In Episode 8 of "If Wishes Could Kill," the narrative picks up where we left off, with Se-ah convulsing as Na-ri laughs and Geon-woo ominously threatens her life if she dies. Just then, the phone rings, and Haetsal calls Geon-woo, urging him to bring Se-ah to her place. They are running out of time. Se-ah begs Geon-woo to ignore the call as she starts convulsing again, leaving Geon-woo confused about who to believe.

The scene cuts to Se-ah waking up in a different realm. Here, she finds herself among her friends in school, all assuring her that the cursed thing is over and that Haetsal saved them. Na-ri apologizes, and Geon-woo tries to calm her down, behaving like the attentive boyfriend he is. She briefly believes them and thinks she's just having a panic attack since the app is no longer on their phones.
However, she notices something odd about the school's construction. She opens a window and sees different versions of herself. The phone suddenly appears in her hands and brings her to another realm.
The second realm is the cursed realm that she and Haetsal visited before. This time, Na-ri is also there, possessed and trying to stop Se-ah from ending everything. In the real-life realm, Geon-woo uses Bang-wool's compass to identify who is telling him the truth. He grabs a taxi and does his best to get Se-ah to Haetsal. Of course, the evil spirit tries to stop him by threatening his life multiple times. It doesn't help that he's never been to Haetsal's place, and he keeps getting lost in the forest.
On the other hand, Haetsal's multiple attempts to light a helium paper lantern are squashed. Finally, she manages to light one, which helps Geon-woo locate her place. Once they arrive, they start the ritual to destroy the maehyung.
The initial assumption that the maehyung was Hye-rung's phone was incorrect. We return to the second realm where a possessed Na-ri tries to kiss Se-ah. Just in time, Haetsal appears to rescue her, but her mask breaks, revealing her true self. She tells Se-ah that they need to create a portal to escape. Before they can do that, Hye-rung shows up and directs them towards the media room. Once they reach there, Hye-rung's neck is magically reattached, as if she's been freed from the curse. Thanks to her help, Haetsal realizes that the maehyung is actually Si-won's phone. There's a chance it's in the media room. She devises a plan: using the deolmi to distract Si-won's spirit while Se-ah breaks into the media room to find the phone.
In the real-life realm, Haetsal initiates the deolmi ritual and appears in the second realm as Hye-rung. Si-won is surprised to see his old friend healed from the curse. Acting as Hye-rung, Haetsal urges Si-won to help her stop the curse so they can all be free. Si-won figures out the truth and attacks her, breaking the deolmi.
Meanwhile, Na-ri, no longer possessed, tries to stop Se-ah from getting to the locked hidden door in the media room. She laments how unfairly they've ended up and refuses to take any responsibility. The two fight for a while, with Se-ah holding back and trying to reason with Na-ri. However, when Na-ri refuses to show remorse or take responsibility, it triggers Se-ah, and she fights back. In the chaos, Na-ri stabs Se-ah in the abdomen with a broken broom handle. Se-ah then beats Na-ri until she passes out.
As Se-ah struggles to get the phone, Haetsal links herself to Si-won's spirit to buy her more time. Finally, Se-ah gets the phone and rushes it to Haetsal who is pinned to the wall by an arrow linking her to Si-won's ghost. Haetsal tries to shoot the phone with the arrow but misses. Se-ah runs to grab the arrow to complete the mission. In response, Si-won's ghost screams, shattering all the glass windows. Luckily, Se-ah gets to the arrow and uses it to permanently destroy the phone, ultimately saving both her life and Haetsal's. They wake up in the real-life realm, hurt but alive.
Unfortunately, once the maehyung is destroyed, the cursed realm disappears, trapping Na-ri inside. She eventually dies there or so the others think. A few days later, students take a break and honor Hyeong-wook. Bang-wool, who can now see spirits, witnesses Hyeong-wook's spirit departing.
Lantern Geon-woo convinces Se-ah to delete the app from her phone. He senses her hesitation because it reminds her of Na-ri and Hyeong-wook. They head back inside, and Bang-wool teases Ha-joon for crying when he thought he would lose him. He also reveals that he has found a way to save Haetsal.
In the epilogue, we see Soo-san breaking into the school and finding Na-ri's phone. Apparently, someone on Discord told him where to find it. He breaks into the phone and opens the Girigo app...
