Subsequently, Wong's dismissal from the force sets the precinct ablaze with accusations of unjust arrest, compelling the chief to initiate a probe into Johnny's vanishing act. In the midst of this turmoil, Lana and Green are reassigned as partners, while Willis finds himself teaming up with Turner.

During their investigation, Lana divulges details about a boat that she and Johnny frequented, leading them to question its owner. The inquiry takes an unexpected turn when an employee, spotted by Lana, makes a hasty exit upon seeing them. As Green and Lana give chase, they uncover a startling revelation: everything is owned by a monolithic corporation known as HBWC. The employee, cornered by their inquiries, reveals that the boat has been missing for years.

Elsewhere, Willis and Turner lay in wait to intercept Detective Carrey, a seasoned investigator who once worked alongside Johnny. Carrey confirms Willis's suspicions: Johnny was the Painted Faces' ringleader, responsible for the demise of another detective and last seen near the docks before his disappearance.

In parallel, Lana and Green stumble upon the boat, wrecked and submerged underwater, suggesting that Johnny might have perished during a desperate escape attempt. Heart-wrenchingly, Lana conveys this grim discovery to Willis.

As the episode draws to a close, Willis receives a gleaming new detective badge, symbolizing a fresh start. With a resolve etched in his voice, he declares that his narrative is poised to unfold anew.
