Invasion – Season 3 Episode 1 1

Fast-forward two years, and we find ourselves in the heart of what was once the United States. Trevante and Casper have been elevated to the status of legendary heroes, celebrated for their selfless sacrifice in the face of an otherworldly threat. Their likenesses have even been immortalized as miniature action figures, a testament to their enduring legacy.

President Zhou delivers a solemn speech in commemoration of M-Day, a poignant reminder of the day humanity faced its darkest hour. With the aliens seemingly vanquished and no immediate invasion on the horizon, the focus shifts to rebuilding and forging a new world order.

At the center of this unfolding narrative is a suburban family, glued to the television as they watch the news unfold. Patriarch Steven can't help but express his pride in humanity's resilience and unwavering determination. Little does he know, however, that the threat is far from over.

While tending to his dog in the yard, Steven's world is turned upside down when he stumbles upon an alien lurking in the shadows. The creature, with a menacing growl, stabs him, sending a chilling reminder that the battle is far from won.

Our attention then shifts to Portal Site 11, nestled deep within the Atlantic Ocean. There's a palpable sense of anticipation as tremors ripple through the portal area. Jensen arrives to oversee the situation, with soldiers stationed around the portal, their fingers poised on triggers, ready to fire at a moment's notice.

What emerges from the portal, however, is not what anyone expected. It's Trevante Cole, alive and seemingly unscathed. He's swiftly taken to a secure facility for questioning, but notably, Caspar is nowhere to be found.

Meanwhile, across the ocean in what was once England, Jamila is slowly but surely piecing her life back together. She's rediscovered her passion for painting, carved out a semblance of normalcy, and even enjoys the occasional football match on TV. But at the gallery, a painting catches her eye, sending her into a tailspin. It's a striking piece, both hauntingly beautiful and eerily bleak, featuring the unmistakable face of Caspar.

Jamila finds herself spiraling even deeper into chaos when she discovers that Trevante is, against all odds, still alive. As news reports flood in about his miraculous return, President Zhou senses a golden opportunity and pushes for Trevante to step into the media spotlight. However, Jack Hollander, the man tasked with overseeing Trevante’s wellbeing, harbors deep misgivings. He is wary of the man and doubts Trevante’s mental stability.

The details of what truly transpired aboard the Mothership remain shrouded in mystery, but following a haunting dream, Trevante becomes convinced that there is something crucial on the ship that they have overlooked. The last vivid memory he retains is of seeing something anomalous within the ship's walls. When questioned by soldiers about his suspicions, they vehemently insist that the ship has been inert for two years, with even the hunter-killers retreating there to meet their end without launching further attacks.

Trevante, however, is resolute in his belief that the threat is far from over (after all, it’s a brand-new season, so it’s only natural that the story is far from concluded), but the authorities are unconvinced. After all, there has been no sign of activity beyond Trevante’s own return.

Eventually, Trevante acquiesces to appear on television. Just as he is about to recite what he believes are Caspar’s words to the public, he is interrupted by a familiar face—Jamila, who clears the air and reveals that the words are actually hers. The pair shares a warm, emotional reunion with a heartfelt hug before retreating to a private space to catch up. Trevante admits he can’t recall much, but Jamila presses him, demanding the truth.

Though Trevante has no answers, when Jamila hands him the EEG readout from the time he died, he suddenly collapses to the ground, his mind flooded with vivid flashbacks to the Mothership. Scrambling to his feet, Trevante rushes to inform the General, explaining that he has seen something aboard the ship—a new form of alien, perhaps. Unsurprisingly, the General is skeptical, attributing Trevante’s claims to PTSD.

But Trevante’s grip on reality seems to slip further, and he eventually breaks free from the military’s grasp. Deciding to go off the grid, he escapes with Jamila by his side. The pair drives off in search of answers, determined to uncover the truth directly from the Mothership. Meanwhile, Hollander, in a desperate move, orders a complete shutdown of everything within a 30-mile radius and declares Trevante public enemy number one.
