Episode 5 of Invasion Season 3 kicks off with Trevante and the remaining soldiers still clinging to life after their harrowing crash-landing in the previous installment. The pulsating blue veins of the alien tentacles are embedded deeply into the wreckage of the helicopter, casting an eerie glow that sends shivers down Mitsuki's spine. Fear grips her as she senses the presence of at least a dozen or more HKs lurking in the wilderness, and the crackle of gunfire soon fills the air as their pursuers close in.

Invasion – Season 3 Episode 5 1

Trevante stands there, shell-shocked, his mind replaying haunting memories from his time in the war. Meanwhile, the second helicopter lands nearby, and the group wastes no time in setting out to rendezvous with their comrades. However, touching the enigmatic tentacle has an unexpected effect on Mitsuki, as she begins to grasp the profound interconnectedness of it all.

The team charges through the dense forest for what seems like an eternity (the scene cleverly transitions from the dimming light of dusk to the blinding brightness of day in the very next frame). Along the way, they are ambushed by more alien creatures. In a harrowing close call with an HK, both Trevante and Mitsuki are rescued by the surviving soldiers and whisked away to the relative safety of the helicopter.

You see, when Mitsuki makes contact with the tendril, she inadvertently establishes a connection with the HK, experiencing every excruciating blow as the soldiers fiercely stab and shoot at the alien. The overwhelming pain causes her to lose consciousness, and she remains unresponsive. To make matters worse, the helicopter's electronics are completely fried, leaving the group with no choice but to fight their way through the treacherous forest to reach the airport, a grueling 20-kilometer journey away.

On their perilous trek, Nikhil manages to dampen the alien signal, allowing Mitsuki to slowly regain consciousness. However, she is far from pleased with the interruption. The troops are even less thrilled when they overhear Mitsuki waxing poetic about how "beautiful" her connection to the aliens is. Nevertheless, they press on, reaching the airport without delving too deeply into this unsettling revelation. Thankfully, another helicopter awaits them there.

Meanwhile, Infinitas guides Aneesha and Clark to a place called Shadow Lake. Alas, their path is blocked as the roads are closed, severing their hopes of returning home to Luke and the others. Aneesha manages to make a call home, but the connection is erratic at best, and they are unable to have a proper conversation before the phone lines go dead.

Aneesha confides in Clark that Luke has sensed the presence of the aliens, but Clark is far from pleased about being kept in the dark. Right now, however, their top priority is making it back home. Fifty miles deep into the Dead Zone, Infinitas receives a report from her scouts that there's "something new" lurking out there. These new entities are apparently even stronger and more formidable than the HKs. When Jamila overhears this conversation through eavesdropping, she learns the full story and how the WDC is turning a deaf ear to their concerns about the menacing forces within the Dead Zone.

Jamila is convinced they must try to get through to the WDC, and since Trevante is part of this crucial mission, she insists on joining personally to warn him. With Infinitas busy preparing her troops for deployment, Aneesha dashes out the back in a desperate attempt to steal a car. Infinitas, however, arrives first and, surprisingly, declares she won't stand in Aneesha's way. As they sit down for a heart-to-heart, Infinitas proposes that Aneesha come along and join them on this mission to aid Trevante. Naturally, everyone converges at the airstrip for the rendezvous, where the entire team is assembled and aligned.

Infinitas addresses the Director, flaunting the signal, while Trevante quickly realizes they're facing a grave problem. There's a sniper perched on the rooftop, and the team springs into action. In a swift move, Infinitas slits the Director's throat, the sniper takes out the soldiers, and the rebels seize control. Trevante manages to hustle the main characters onto the waiting helicopter, which takes off without Infinitas and her rebels. Intriguingly, her son attempts a suicide-squad-style move, trying to kill the inhabitants, but Trevante deftly tosses the grenade overboard, where it explodes in mid-air.
