Invincible – Season 2 Episode 1 1

Despite his son's burgeoning superhero career, Nolan declines membership in The Guardians of the Globe, an elite assembly of superheroes dedicated to protecting Earth.Shockingly, he proceeds to eliminate the entire Guardians' roster single-handedly, keeping his sinister deeds concealed from all except his wife, Debbie (Sandra Oh), who begins to harbor suspicions.

Mark's journey further deepens as he joins a teenage superhero collective, encountering colorful characters such as Atom Eve (Gillian Jacobs) and the enigmatic Robot (Zachary Quinto). This core group eventually rises to become the new Guardians of the Globe. Unbeknownst to them, Robot harbors a clandestine plan to transfer his consciousness into a younger clone of Rex, a former Guardian, using the assistance of the nefarious Mauler Twins.

Omni-Man's dark secret is eventually uncovered by Cecil, the battle-scarred head of the Global Defense Agency (GDA), and Debbie. Confronted, Nolan reluctantly confesses that Viltrum's ultimate objective is to assimilate Earth and every other celestial body in the galaxy into the Viltrum Empire. The Viltrumites, being the most potent beings in existence, possess extraordinary longevity, achieved through centuries of brutal intra-species competition that has bred out weakness. They intend to subject Earth to the same fate.

Determined to thwart his father's treacherous scheme, Mark engages Nolan in a fierce confrontation but is gravely wounded in the process, leaving Nolan to abandon Earth. At this juncture, Allen the Alien (Seth Rogan) reveals to Mark the existence of a galactic federation of planets that live in perpetual dread of the Viltrum Empire, hinting that Mark may represent a beacon of hope against this cosmic tyranny.
