Jo Nesbo’s Detective Hole – Season 1 Episode 5 1

Meanwhile, police psychologist Ståle Aune provides insights to the investigative team, explaining the differences between psychopaths and sociopaths and how the crime scene can reveal the suspect's motive. He reveals that all three murders, including Lisbeth's, are connected. Harry supports this theory and tries to find a common factor among them.

Harry interrogates the client, last seen at Barbara's Debt Collection office, and learns that the man is a foreigner who often travels abroad. The client mentions seeing a man in a suit and another who works as a bicycle courier. Harry asks the team to check CCTV footage for delivery agents. He informs Tom about this discovery, and Tom praises him for his work.

Tom then tries to contact the gang member at the hospital but leaves when he fears being recognized by the Dearpmis member. Elsewhere, Harry visits a church and asks about the star-shaped sign, a pentagram. The priest explains that it is an ancient symbol of faith but becomes a symbol of satanic worship when inverted.

Back at the station, Møller, Tom, Harry, Ståle, and Beate discuss the possibility of sexual assault among the victims. They also note that a similar weapon was used in the murders of Camilla and Barbara.

At the newspaper office, Maya's boss asks the journalists to focus on the angle of bicycle delivery workers being involved in the murders. Rakel calls Harry to remind him of his plans to see Oleg the next day. Tom asks Harry to review photos taken by reporters at the crime scene.

While going through the images, Harry spots Vibeke's husband, Andres, in the crowd and grows suspicious. He also notices a cassette tape in photos from Camilla's apartment. Meanwhile, Tom meets Atilla again and warns her that the Dearpmis gang could kill her anytime, urging her to act first.

Elsewhere, Harry returns to Camilla's apartment with the sole intention of retrieving the cassette. His mind plays tricks on him, conjuring an image of Tom's hand caressing Camilla's body, but reality snaps him back to attention when Anders arrives. Anders invites Harry to his apartment, explaining that he used the janitor's key to investigate the break-in. He asks Vibeke to return to her restful slumber and tells Harry that he's given her medication for her mental health issues. Anders speaks about the killer, suggesting that, unlike them, the killer likely sleeps peacefully because he has a purpose. He claims that all three women were promiscuous and that the killer may be trying to eliminate them. This statement stirs Harry's suspicion, and he questions Anders about the star symbol etched on Camilla's bed frame. Anders reveals that the pentagram is a symbol used in satanic rituals.

That night, Harry listens to the cassette tape from Camilla's apartment. He contacts a tech expert to clean the distorted audio, but is told it's not possible. The expert notes that the speaker sounds like someone using ancient language. The next day, Harry meets Oleg at the pool, where Oleg hesitates to dive. He gains confidence after seeing Harry and jumps.

Soon after, Harry recalls something and takes Oleg to the pawn shop near Barbara's office. He notices a pentagram drawn on a dusty television and questions the shopkeeper. The shopkeeper reveals that a bicycle courier had visited the shop but left quickly. Harry tries to question him further, but Oleg asks to go home.

Back at the station, Harry asks Beate to speak with the shopkeeper and identify the courier. Meanwhile, Odin, Tom's client from the Dearpmis gang, learns that Atilla plans to attack the hospital. He calls Harry and offers to reveal who sold him the guns, asking for police protection.

Harry calls Wulf and asks him to arrange a SWAT team. He drops Oleg off at home and rushes to the hospital. Elsewhere, Odin attempts to escape with his associate, but Atilla and the Korps gang arrive and shoot them both. As they leave, the Korps members encounter Harry, who is unarmed and unable to stop them. Tom arrives with the SWAT team, but they are too late. Harry is left dejected and considers joining the committee Tom had mentioned earlier. Tom gives Harry 48 hours to decide.

Meanwhile, Beate calls Harry to inform him that she has identified the serial killer's fingerprint.

The episode ends with Tom speaking to his superior about the deaths of the Dearpmis gang members and Harry's pending decision.
