Meanwhile, Aki stealthily captures the unscrupulous duo's revelations in a clandestine recording, exposing their callous manipulation. In parallel, Sachiko's nightmares plunge her into a relentless struggle for breath, her dreams marred by the relentless embrace of drowning. Elsewhere, the shadowy mastermind behind the assassination plot dispatches a search for even more gifted individuals, fueling an ominous crescendo.

Nanmaru, intoxicated by his newfound wealth, marvels at the fortune he's amassed, yet a peculiar pimple on his brow hints at a looming change. Meanwhile, Emi delves into a cryptic conversation with the professor, uncovering a startling revelation: the traditional dates of the Tanabata festival have been eerily distorted, adhering instead to the Gregorian calendar, casting June 18th as the unlikely date of celebration. As Emi summons Tomoko and Tagaya to unravel this anomaly, they unravel a tapestry of mystery and intrigue, deepening the complex tapestry of "Land of Tanabata."

As Tagaya delved into the intricate puzzle pieces, he posed a thought-provoking question, "Did the Gregorian calendar already grace the village of Marukami, even before its official introduction to Japan?" Emi, with a glimmer of insight, conjectured that the enigmatic festival held the key to unraveling this mystery.

The following day, Nanmaru's supernatural prowess once again captivated the crowd. However, the aftermath brought him face to face with a new dilemma—students eager to learn his enigmatic abilities. Amidst their relentless pleas, Nanmaru found himself perplexed, explaining that such gifts were solely confined to his family lineage. The students, unconvinced, dismissed his words as mere jest.

Aki, ever the astute observer, confronted Nanmaru with her incriminating footage, exposing Takashi and his accomplice's deceitful scheme. As Nanmaru inquired about her motivations, Aki confessed her aspirations to become a journalist. "This revelation is a golden opportunity for me," she declared fervently, adding, "Please, Nanmaru, do not stand in my way." With that, she left, leaving Nanmaru to ponder her resolve.

Visiting Takashi, Nanmaru returned the ill-gotten gains and steadfastly refused to utilize his extraordinary abilities for such nefarious purposes. He held fast to the belief that his power should be employed according to his own conscience.

Back in the serene yet troubled village of Marukami, Sachiko encountered Yoriyuki, the masked figure synonymous with death and assassination. On the somber occasion of her mother's death anniversary, she anticipated his arrival, knowing him as the enigmatic "window opener" who often wandered beyond the village's borders. Yoriyuki, his voice laced with determination, vowed to "bring an end to these relentless nightmares." It transpired that he was the mastermind behind the murder at the construction company, yet even he lamented, "Regrettably, I remain powerless against my own dreams."

Meanwhile, the villagers of Marukami convened for a crucial meeting, presided over by Sachiko's esteemed great-uncle, who appeared to be the village's patriarch. The discussion centered on the persistent intrusion of outsiders, casting a shadow over their peaceful existence.

Elsewhere, Yoriyuki confronted the baron, the man who orchestrated the councillor's assassination. The baron's greed was palpable, as he declared his intention to possess "everything within his grasp" and maintain his monopoly over the village's accumulated wealth. Yoriyuki, unwavering, admonished the baron's selfish desires, exposing his craving for exclusive playthings. This confrontation ignited the baron's rage, summoning armed henchmen, but Yoriyuki, with his supernatural prowess, effortlessly dispatched them. Finally, he revealed his grotesquely mutated visage, a twisted fusion of alien and avian features, sending a chilling message of his unbridled power.
