Episode 4 of "Lazarus" kicks off with a stark reminder: minors were categorically forbidden from partaking in the realm of Hapna. Nevertheless, this ban only fueled its underground allure, transforming it into a phenomenon that captivated the youth. A single, whispers-light rumor—that Hapna possessed the power to banish sorrow—spread with the fervor of wildfire among the younger crowd. Soon enough, dealers caught the scent and began peddling the substance at exorbitant prices, thereby cementing its status as a pervasive issue.

Lazarus – Season 1 Episode 4 1

In the contemporary narrative, we discover that Dr. 909 holds the title of the world's most prolific hacker. Thanks to Elaina's diligent sleuthing, his whereabouts have finally been uncovered. A plethora of payments, suspiciously timed just prior to Skinner's momentous speech on Hapna, have been traced back to his account. Furthermore, 909 appears to have liquidated a substantial amount of stocks in cahoots with a stock investor named Sam Stephenson. This could very well imply a conspiracy linking these two individuals with Skinner—perhaps aiding in his mysterious disappearance.

Elaina meticulously monitors the wallet, observing that physical deposits have been made at various locations worldwide. Upon reviewing the security footage, she detects what seems to be the same individual making these deposits at ATMs. But can we conclusively verify his identity? Regardless, Elaina receives an alert pinpointing a new transaction location: Babylonia City, conveniently situated near their current whereabouts.

The rest of the team sets off to track down Sam Stephenson, whose social media presence is lively and reveals a penchant for attractive women. However, his disdain for women is neither concealed nor ashamedly displayed.

Every weekend, he hosts a lavish party, where the VIP section becomes a sanctuary for enchanting women, and it's no surprise that our femme fatale makes her entrance in Christine's guise. Meanwhile, Leland is also dressed to the nines, for they remain in the dark about Sam's preferences!

Within the pulsating club, Doug devises a plan to split the team and steer Sam into a secluded corner for a heart-to-heart. However, accomplishing this in such a vibrant atmosphere is easier conceptualized than executed. After all, this is Sam's turf, guarded by heavily armed security, and access to the exclusive upstairs realm requires a digital tattoo.

Axel pulls off a cunning maneuver to secure the tattoo, while Leland, bashful and constrained by his attire, finds it challenging to present himself. In a bind, he enlists Doug's assistance.

Sam arrives at the club, and ironically, it's Leland who gets singled out and whisked away by Sam to a private haven. Sam confesses his penchant for those who embody "innocence and purity." Tragically, the other women downstairs are drugged, rendering them vulnerable to the predators lurking among the crowd.

However, the medications proved ineffective on Chris, who skillfully overcame the menacing figure and propelled him off the balcony, where he plummeted onto the unsuspecting superstar DJ below, none other than Visionary—revealed later to be 909! Throughout this chaotic sequence, Axel acquired a digital tattoo, albeit its significance was diminished when a gun battle erupted amidst the turmoil. Sam and 909 attempted to flee aboard a helicopter, only to be thwarted by Axel, who leapt onto the aircraft as it ascended. Fortunately, Leland arrived with his fleet of drones and came to their aid. Yet, the helicopter ultimately crashed, prompting Axel to inquire about Skinner's whereabouts from the duo. To their mutual bewilderment, they were as clueless as everyone else regarding Skinner's hideout. Their edge in staying ahead of the authorities was solely due to hacking data from a facility known as Delta Medicinal.

With this illicitly obtained information, Axel facilitated the arrest of Sam Stephenson and Dr. 909 on insider trading charges. The crux of the matter was that 909 had no ties to Skinner; the sole morsel of intelligence gleaned was Delta Medicinal's awareness of Hapna's perils, indicating their potential connection to Skinner and marking them as the next logical target.

Switching scenes to the lab, the dramatic collapse of one of the chimps confined within a cage served as a grim testament to the very real dangers posed by Hapna.
