As she grapples with the chaos, the police swoop in to arrest her for fraud after the Career Way CEO turns himself in.
Now unemployed, Ji-yun savors her newfound liberty, lounging around with Eun-ho by her side. Meanwhile, Jeong-hun takes a humble part-time gig at his sister-in-law's kindergarten, where he reconnects with Su-hyeon, whose latest book is garnering critical acclaim. Their time together blossoms into a deeper bond.
Unexpectedly, Jeong-hun's sister-in-law crosses paths with his father and urges him to cherish his only living son. She hands him an old, faded photograph of the trio, sparking a reflective moment where he acknowledges his past mistakes. Stricken by the harm he's caused, he resolves to mend fences with Jeong-hun.
