Episode 4 of "Love, Take Two" kicks off with Hyo Ri making a pivotal decision, opting to keep her mother with her for the foreseeable future. However, Sun-young's ill-timed mention of the house spoils the surprise, and her attempts to retract her words prove futile. Curiosity piqued, Hyo Ri insists on inspecting this alleged mansion. Ji-an, with no other option, is forced to confess the truth.
The chatter about the grandeur of the house has piqued Ji-an's curiosity, and she's eager to see what all the fuss is about. Bo Hyeon and Tae-oh, naturally, tag along. While Tae-oh shares Ji-an's excitement, it doesn't quite reassure her.
Hyo Ri remains uncertain about this plan, concerned about the costs and the time it will take to finalize everything. She also expresses doubts about Ji-an's business acumen, given her planned restaurant. Tempers begin to flair, but thankfully, Bo Hyeon's timely arrival helps to calm the situation.
The next day at the farm, the situation involving So-yeon escalates. As the adults scrutinize blueprints and plan for the construction team's arrival (including Hwang and his team), So-yeon boldly declares her affection for Bo Hyeon. Hyo Ri, however, remains unmoved, stating that she has high standards and is merely considering her feelings for him.
Despite Hyo Ri's reservations, the undeniable chemistry between her and Bo Hyeon is evident in a charming scene where they skip stones together, ultimately ending up soaked in the water. This fleeting moment of fun in Cheonghae Village is short-lived, as Hyo Ri heads back home to visit her friend, Lee Sook.
The mood shifts abruptly when Hyo Ri confides in Sook about her tumor. A heavy silence ensues until Sook encourages her friend to embrace life fully and messily. Sook conceals her fear and guilt from her friend, but when they embrace, her eyes are tightly shut, revealing her hidden emotions.
Sitting solitary beside the bus stop, Sook's eyes welled up with tears, and she couldn't resist dialing her father's number anymore. Sobbing, she poured out her heart. Initially, impulsively fueled by Hyo Ri's prolonged silence, she had sent a harsh message asking, "Are you dead?" Now, guilt weighed heavily on her like an unsavory pill lodging in her throat, especially after gaining insight into Hyo Ri's predicament.
Meanwhile, across town, Hyo Ri immersed herself in a lively gathering with Ji-an and the construction team, where they toasted and laughed heartily. Notably, Jeong-seok was also among them. As conversations deepened, Hwang and others recounted Ji-an's unwavering resilience as a manager and the arduous early days of her career—a time when she faced exclusion, and many colleagues struggled to comprehend her perseverance and determination. Hwang reminisced about Ji-an secretly shedding tears yet forcing herself to eat, balancing her demanding job while striving to care for Hyo Ri. This的回忆 made him realize profoundly that Ji-an was merely fighting to survive. Manager Lee's "frustrating yet straightforward" demeanor evoked deep sympathy among the men present.
For Hyo Ri, comprehending her mother's inner world softened her heart. Meanwhile, Ji-an, seeking a "cure for her hangover," stumbled back in a less-than-stellar condition. Jeong-seok and Hyo Ri quickly escorted her home and settled her in, providing them with an opportunity for a private conversation. Hyo Ri confessed her opposition to building a new house, fearing it would once again upend Ji-an's life because of her. She longed for her mother to stop prioritizing Hyo Ri, as it made her feel like a burden. However, Jeong-seok's heartfelt words dissolved the misunderstanding, calmly pointing out that Ji-an's actions stemmed from her desire to share quality time and a good life with Hyo Ri.
The following morning, Hyo Ri's attitude subtly shifted, showing glimpses of enthusiasm for the new home. Yet, this warmth was fleeting. When she proposed modifications to the exterior design or structural adjustments, Ji-an scrutinized her suggestions sternly. Nevertheless, these minor tweaks and Ji-an's rigorous oversight proved worthwhile. The team worked in unison, transforming the house into a cozy abode brimming with homeliness. Furniture was moved in, electricity was connected, and although the outdoor lights flickered occasionally, hinting at instability, Hyo Ri was overwhelmingly satisfied with the final outcome—and that was what mattered most.
What truly dampens her spirits, however, is the state of her mother. She perceives how Ji-an exhausts herself relentlessly, forgoing meals and pushing her limits to the brink of collapse. Hyo Ri addresses her candidly, acknowledging the admiration she holds for Ji-an's unwavering diligence but also urging her to value her well-being and recognize the importance of taking a breather. In this moment, she confesses her affection for their home... yet, a dilemma persists.
Suddenly, two furious dogs appear on the scene, only to be warded off by a woman wielding a sausage, cleverly distracting them from the entrance. To our dismay, we swiftly realize that this woman is none other than Ji-an's mother! She has returned!
