Unfortunately, that eventually employee retracted their accusation, leaving Ji-won in a vulnerable position. Forced to depart from the company, she subsequently faced a devastating defamation lawsuit. Just when things couldn't get worse, her parents' untimely demise added an immeasurable weight to her shoulders.
Switching back to the present, Ji-won makes a spontaneous decision to head home, opting out of her scheduled meeting with Seok Ji-won. The following day, Mun-soo, who had stumbled upon Ji-won's encounter with the man, vows to safeguard her secret from her grandfather and Seok Ji-won.
Seok Ji-won's curiosity about Ji-won's erratic behavior grows stronger, culminating in his own confrontation with the man. Flashbacks reveal that even after their bitter breakup, Seok Ji-won couldn't help but keep tabs on Yoon Ji-won. Years ago, he had chance upon an altercation between her and the man, culminating in him punching the latter in a fit of rage. In the current timeline, the man, who is unexpectedly revealed to be Jeong-yul's father, seeks out Seok Ji-won to discuss his daughter's spat with Hae-su. However, Seok Ji-won stands unwaveringly by Yoon Ji-won's side, denying the man access to her, much to his frustration.
Elsewhere, Cha Ji-hye stumbles upon an old essay penned by Yoon Ji-won, revealing her aspiration to be a champion of justice. Moved by her earnest desire, Ji-hye presents the essay to Ji-won. This nostalgic glimpse into her youthful dreams ignites a spark within Ji-won, emboldening her to confront her fears head-on.
Later in the day, Seok Ji-won's latest attempt to propose to Yoon Ji-won was thwarted by Jae-ho, who interrupted them just before they could embark on their romantic outing. The couple then embarked on a mission to persuade Jae-ho to give their relationship his blessing. After sharing his own struggles following Yoon Ji-won's parents' demise, Jae-ho eventually relented. Subsequently, Seok Ji-won found himself spending the night at the Yoons' residence, sharing quarters with Jae-ho.
Elsewhere, it was unveiled that Gyung-hoon, while serving as the school's director, had embezzled funds and used them to acquire land adjacent to the forthcoming golf course. This revelation clarified his support for Seok Ji-won's father while duping Jae-ho.
Furthermore, it transpired that Jeong-yul had transferred schools to escape his father, a notorious adulterer. Yoon Ji-won chanced upon a conversation between them and confronted the latter later. When the father attempted to assault her, Seok Ji-won swiftly intervened and put him in his place.
Meanwhile, Soo-ah finally engaged in a conversation with Dr. Hong, which Hae-su witnessed. The misunderstanding regarding the viral photo featuring Hae-su and Dr. Hong was cleared up discreetly, without anyone learning about their relationship. Hae-su's friends and even Jeong-yul admitted to being present during the photo's capturing.
Later, during their date, Seok Ji-won realized he had left the engagement ring at the Yoon house. This necessitated a hurried return to retrieve it, which they did while Jae-ho was away. However, Jae-ho unexpectedly returned, prompting Seok Ji-won to hide in the attic. After Jae-ho departed, Yoon Ji-won joined him there and revealed that she had discovered the ring while cleaning Jae-ho's room. Seok Ji-won sensed that the moment was ripe and reached for the ring, but to his surprise, Yoon Ji-won ended up completing his proposal as the episode drew to a close.
