Episode 5 of "Love Your Enemy" kicks off with Yoon Ji-won and Seok Ji-won immersed in introspection, particularly revisiting the tumultuous aftermath of their three-month romance. Unable to stomach the harsh treatment meted out by Yoon Ji-won, Seok Ji-won makes a bold decision to relocate into the Yoon family's residence, specifically the quarters reserved for school personnel.
Unsurprisingly, Yoon Ji-won finds herself deeply disturbed by Seok Ji-won's unwelcome presence in her home. Nevertheless, Seok Ji-won seizes every opportunity to tease her, cleverly rekindling their old chemistry during a trip to the convenience store to procure supplies.
Upon their return, Mun-soo astounds everyone with a delightful dinner, sparking a humorous rivalry between Seok Ji-won and Mun-soo to win over Yoon Ji-won and her grandfather, Yoon Jae-ho.
Later, during a discourse on the ongoing saga surrounding the mountain, Seok Ji-won casts doubts on Ji Gyung-hun's loyalty. Gyung-hun stands firmly with Yoon Jae-ho, endorsing the endeavor to safeguard the mountain from the Seok Company's golf resort ambitions.
Meanwhile, Cha Ji-hye observes the resumed squabbling between the two Ji-wons, reminiscent of their tumultuous high school days prior to their brief romance.
Back at the abode, Seok Ji-won's attempt to whip up a stew falls flat, and Jae-ho unveils his plans to convene with allies to counteract the Seok Company's initiatives.
However, the following day, Jae-ho is met with disillusionment as numerous supporters ditch him, opting instead to attend a gathering organized by Seok Ji-won's father. This results in a fiery confrontation and a fistfight breaking out between Jae-ho and Seok Ji-won's father, a brawl that both Ji-wons hastily intervene to halt.
Later on, Yoon Ji-won accused Seok Ji-won of betraying their plans to his father, yet he steadfastly denied the accusation. The subsequent day, Ji-hye proposed a beer party at Yoon Ji-won's abode, hoping to forge a closer bond with Seok Ji-won. The festive atmosphere eventually culminated in Ji-hye and Mun-so being completely inebriated.
In the dead of night, Seok Ji-won awoke to behold a ladder ascending to the attic. There, nestled among the shadows, he uncovered an antique box filled with keepsakes from his and Yoon Ji-won's former romantic days. As Ji-hye, preparing to depart, caught sight of Seok Ji-won's legs dangling precariously from the attic, she let out a piercing scream, drawing everyone's attention. Yoon Ji-won was left mortified as her treasure trove of secrets was laid bare for all to see.
The following morning, when Seok Ji-won inquired about a photograph from the box, Yoon Ji-won crumpled it in a fit of desperation, insisting she was just about to discard the box. The box also harbored her old phone, reminding Ji-hye of how she had meddled in their relationship by blocking Seok Ji-won's number—a revelation that might shine a light on the reason behind their breakup. Ji-hye's anxiety grew, fearing the truth might be uncovered.
Elsewhere, Seok Ji-won's father confronted him with an ultimatum: Jae-ho must offer an apology, or the Yoon family would face dire repercussions. Seok Ji-won was entrusted with conveying this message.
Meanwhile, Seok Ji-won began to feel unwell but persisted until Yoon Ji-won found him burning with fever upon returning home. As she nursed him back to health, Seok Ji-won, in a fever-induced haze, dreamed of lilacs in bloom and Yoon Ji-won rushing back to him. Overwhelmed with emotion, he halted her departure and passionately kissed her.
