At her abode, Yoon Ji-won scrolls through aged photographs on her smartphone, reliving memories of her past relationship with Seok Ji-won. The following day, Ji-hye suggests to Seok Ji-won that they revert to being mere friends to alleviate the lingering discomfort between them. Meanwhile, Yoon Ji-won and Mun-so engage in a lively basketball game until they are tasked by a colleague to undertake a mission in Seoul.
Taking advantage of the situation, Ji-hye ditches Mun-so and Yoon Ji-won to hitch a ride with Seok Ji-won, who is bound for Seoul to celebrate his mother's birthday. Similarly, Ji Gyung-hun jumps on Jae-ho's bandwagon, who harbors his own set of plans. Alas, Mun-so and Yoon Ji-won miss their bus, but fortuitously, Seok Ji-won spots them waiting at the bus stop. The quartet ends up traveling to Seoul together, with Seok Ji-won vowing to pick them up later for the return journey.Earlier that day, Hae-soo succumbed to exhaustion from her relentless pursuit of studies, an unforeseen twist that mended the frayed bonds between her and Yu-mi. Meanwhile, Seok Ji-won encountered his father and learned that Jae-ho had offered an apology for their altercation. This turn of events stemmed from Seok Ji-won's choice to extend an olive branch to Jae-ho on behalf of his father's misdeeds, rather than resorting to intimidation. However, Jae-ho remained unyielding towards the elder Seok's handling of the golf course dispute.
Elsewhere, Ji-hye cooked up a devious plan to drive a wedge between Yoon Ji-won and Seok Ji-won. She disrupted Seok Ji-won's call to Yoon Ji-won and confiscated her phone for the entire day, harboring hopes of reuniting Mun-so and Yoon Ji-won, as she had once orchestrated before. Mun-so and Yoon Ji-won spent the day together, culminating in Mun-so's heartfelt confession. Yoon Ji-won, polite but firm, declined his advances, leaving Mun-so to depart with a sense of awkwardness.
Seok Ji-won, desperate to reach them, made repeated attempts but to no avail. After an interminable wait and an early exit from his mother's gathering, he embarked on his solitary return. Similarly frustrated, Yoon Ji-won, unable to connect with Seok Ji-won, boarded a bus back home. Their paths unexpectedly crossed on the journey. They engaged in their usual spat, with Yoon Ji-won probing Seok Ji-won about his motives for past relationships. Seok Ji-won, casting his mind back to his younger days, replied jestingly that it was to reject her mercilessly.
As their argument ebbed, they became aware of the lilacs in full bloom, prompting Seok Ji-won to recall their fever-induced kiss, bringing a closure to this chapter.
