As Kit takes in the scene, he reaches for his phone to call Nat and Jamie, their voices a beacon of hope amidst the chaos. The family's home, once a sanctuary, has now become a testament to the thieves' ruthless efficiency. Surveillance footage from the neighbours' doorbell camera reveals a well-orchestrated heist, a massive moving truck lurking in the shadows, siphoning off all that was once theirs. The police, in their investigations, attribute the discovery of a dead snake to a chilling calling card left by the culprits.
With Nat determined to escape the dismal weekend retreat and Jamie's paranoia reaching new heights—he believes every whisper a eavesdropped conversation—the family decides to make a hasty retreat, leaving Jamie alone in London with Adam. At work, Jamie's demeanor is one of fury and disbelief as he is summoned to his office to receive the news that he has been terminated from his job. Yet amidst the despair, there is a flicker of gratitude towards Kit for his handling of April's situation.
Jamie opens up about his heartbreak over the loss of some irreplaceable artworks, particularly the painting Kit had created of Frank in their bathroom. The piece holds a special place in Jamie's heart, a testament to their shared memories and creativity.
As the knock at the door echoes through the halls, a Tilderman briefcase is delivered to Jamie, a company he once backed but subsequently went under. However, the case contains more than just documents; it holds human feces. Adam, having rung Nat and attempting to fleece her, is already in Greece and tells her he'll "see her shortly" before cutting the call. But fate has other plans, as Adam steals Nat's phone.
Jamie reaches out to his colleague Ingrid at work, seeking her help in delving into his connections with the Tilderman company. However, his efforts are cut short as Adam calls him from Nat's phone, taunting him before tossing it into the sea, triggering Jamie's spider senses.
Ingrid sends over the files, jogging Jamie's memory. He had given Adam's father 15 million over two years, but the man had mucked everything up. Jamie boards a plane for Greece, knowing Nat is in trouble.
The story dives deeper into Adam's family history, revealing that his parents died tragically in a house fire, leaving behind Sophie and Adam.
The season 1 finale of Malice sees Adam manage to get hold of a handgun and stir up more trouble with Dimitri, causing Jamie to race back to the villa and confront him about his actions. While Adam sees Jamie's predicament as a result of his own actions, Jamie retorts that this is simply the game of venture capitalism and not everyone can be a winner.
Nat finds the kids at the park and shares the truth with Jamie, while Adam hears the harsh truth about his father's demise. Jamie decides to walk away but realizes what's important in life after losing everything he had. Unfortunately, as Jamie turns to leave, Dimitri's son Yorgos appears, and Adam shoots him in the head before turning the gun on Jamie, killing him too.
Adam manages to escape, but only as far as the US, where he'll eventually be caught and arrested. However, we don't see any of that on screen!
