Lace presents them with three legal options, and they choose mediation. However, Jinx cannot be present during the meeting due to a restraining order. Lace advises Margo to brace for the war that is about to ensue in child custody, believing that Mark is serious about his request. They head back home, and Jinx is understandably sad about the situation. Susie notices his depression and is hurt when he doesn't acknowledge her cosplay costume. To cheer him up, she tries to talk to him and leaves a trinket bag (part of her costume).

Meanwhile, Shyanne helps Margo get ready and grabs a jacket from her wardrobe. Margo is relieved to have her mom by her side. Shyanne tries to encourage her while mentally preparing her to fight against Mark and his family. They later meet with Lace and head to the meeting. The mediator clarifies that only Bodhi's parents and their lawyers are expected in the room, unfortunately leaving Shyanne and Elizabeth, Mark's mom, in the reception area.

During the meeting, Mark explains that he needs full custody because Margo is an unfit mom due to her financial struggles, her violent dad, and her job as a sex worker. He points out that Jinx broke his arm, and his lawyer puts a picture from Margo's OnlyFans page on the table. On the other hand, Margo explains that Mark has shown no interest in Bodhi. She questions if he really cares and sees her as an unfit parent.

Mark responds by sharing his concerns about Margo's job and how it will affect Bodhi's relationship with everyone around him once he grows up. To paint a clear picture for her, he asks what will happen when Bodhi's friends use her content to masturbate. This hits Margo hard, and her demeanor changes. Mark goes on to ask about Bodhi being exposed to other sex workers she might befriend, and Margo quietly takes everything in while balancing tears.

The scene shifts to Kenny picking up Shyanne from the police station, where we learn that she's been arrested for breaking Elizabeth's jaw. She apologizes, and Kenny remains supportive. At Margo's house, she tells Susie what happened at the meeting. Margo asks about Jinx, and Susie reveals that he's been meditating in the bathroom for an hour. Margo finds this odd and tries to get Jinx to open the door. When he doesn't, they break it open and find him passed out in the tub with a needle in his arm. They check his pulse, only to realize he's barely breathing. While trying to lift him off the tub, Margo slips, and Jinx's body falls on top of her. She ends up nearly drowning in the tub. Fortunately, Susie manages to get her off and starts CPR while Margo retrieves a drug from her room. They rush him to the hospital, and Shyanne and Kenny arrive shortly after. It turns out that Margo saved Jinx's life by giving him naloxone just in time. Apparently, Jinx has been skimming the painkiller meds he got after his back injury, and Margo had no idea. It also turns out that Jinx overdosed on heroin that night. Shyanne tries to scold him after he wakes up, but Margo stops her. Lace arrives, and Jinx promises to check himself into a methadone clinic once he's discharged. While Margo feels relieved that he's alive, Lace and Shyanne are angry.

Lace pulls Margo aside and informs her that Mark ordered a home inspection and a meeting with a psychiatrist. She advises Margo to kick Jinx out before this happens. Margo is shocked by this news. Later, she vents to Susie about how unfair it is that she has to kick her dad out. Susie reminds her that Jinx endangered Bodhi by taking drugs in their home. In the meantime, Shyanne checks Jinx into a local treatment center where he starts getting help. Back at the house, Margo decides to keep one of Jinx's t-shirts while packing his things up. Later, Shyanne takes Jinx to her old house, where she's still paying rent.

The scene shifts again as we see the aftermath of Jinx's overdose and the consequences it has on those around him. Margo struggles with whether to kick him out or not, while Shyanne tries to hold onto hope for her father's recovery. The situation is complex and emotional, highlighting the difficulties of addiction and the impact it has on families.

She hadn't completed the transition of her belongings to Kenny's house and retained a fondness for her apartment. She instructed Jinx not to antagonize the building manager and to grant her privacy when he came to retrieve his clothes once a week, along with other stipulations like no pets. Subsequently, Margo picked up Jinx and drove him to her place to retrieve his belongings. During the journey, Lace called her, expressing concern about Jinx staying at Shyanne's former residence. Susie continued to call Margo, but she chose to ignore the calls.

Upon arriving at the apartment door, Margo reassured her father that everything was fine and requested his key. Inside, she was taken aback to discover a child protective officer and a public health nurse. They were there because someone had complained that Bodhi was in danger. They refused to disclose who had made the complaint and insisted they had no idea she was engaged in a custody battle.

Margo asked Jinx to call Lace, but she was unreachable. He advised her to cooperate with the officers as they might remove Bodhi if she didn't. The children's officer elaborated on this, and Margo agreed to cooperate. However, she was furious at Jinx due to what they might find during the house search per protocol.

Jinx confessed to his history of drug abuse, recent relapse, and the fact that he was moving out. They began by examining Susie's room while the nurse observed as Margo changed Bodhi's diaper. In Susie's room, the children's officer inquired about her helping Margo with her OnlyFans content. Susie simply explained that it wasn't illegal.

The episode concluded with the officers explaining to Jinx, Susie, and Margo that they needed their urine samples as well. They asked Jinx to go first.
