Ji-hoon stumbles upon So-jeong, picking her up amidst lingering doubts about her innocence or complicity. Both he and Detective Bu grill her during her hospital recuperation, seeking clarity amidst the fog of suspicion.

Meanwhile, Dae-hyun ventures to Si-hyun's abode only to encounter Gwang-chul, who is already aware of their euthanasia operations but enraged by Dae-hyun's deceitful portrayal of self-ingestion. In a show of force, Gwang-chul compels Dae-hyun to quaff a glass of champagne laced with the lethal drug. Elsewhere, Gwang-chul's elderly henchman dumps Si-hyun's lifeless body into a lake, shrouding it in secrecy.

As Dae-hyun succumbs to the drug's effects, Father Yoon, unable to reach him, places a desperate call to So-jeong, requesting her assistance with a terminally ill patient, Lee Yun-hee, who is in excruciating pain. Ji-hoon chauffeurs her to the scene, where he crosses paths with Father Yang. He unmasks his true identity, having previously posed as his old friend, and urges Father Yang to alert him if So-jeong embarks on any perilous endeavors. Father Yang, however, stands firm in his conviction of So-jeong's goodness.

Inside Yun-hee's hospital room, she confides in So-jeong her preference for death over her child enduring the memory of her in agony. Following this poignant exchange, Father Yang inquires about Ji-hoon's accusations towards So-jeong. She reveals that he suspects her of murder and throughout the episode, she subtly introduces Father Yang to the concept of euthanasia, shocking him to his core.

As dawn breaks, the police awaken Dae-hyun, who has slumped into slumber in his vehicle. Detective Bu later arrives at his residence and escorts him in for interrogation regarding drug abuse. With steadfast resolve, Dae-hyun invokes his right to remain silent without his lawyer present. Enter Yi-soo, the legal eagle assigned to Dae-hyun's case. She scours his records, revealing him as a former plastic surgeon who lost his license due to a botched surgery exacerbated by substance abuse. Her subsequent conversation with Detective Bu unearths So-jeong's euthanasia practices. Yi-soo secures Dae-hyun's release, informing him of the police's proposal: a reduced sentence in exchange for his cooperation in apprehending So-jeong.

At school, Woo-mi implores Jae-yeon to convey to her dance instructor that she had consumed drugs prior to her ballet performance. Believing her jitters to be mere nerves, the teacher is withholding the coveted role from Woo-mi. Jae-yeon, however, flatly refuses, still smarting from an incident where Woo-mi nearly landed her aunt in trouble. Undeterred, Woo-mi stages a dramatic scene, planting a kiss on Jae-yeon in full view of their classmates, cleverly framing it as forced upon her. The maneuver leaves Jae-yeon mortified and fleeing the classroom in a huff.

Father Yang contacts So-jeong with solemn news: Lee Eun-hee has passed, and he intends to place her daughter in a reputable orphanage. Later, alarm bells ring for So-jeong when Jae-yeon fails to show up at school, seemingly disappearing without a trace. Ji-hoon comes to her rescue, offering a ride and successfully locating Jae-yeon, escorting her safely home. As he departs, Ji-hoon confides in her his true identity and contact details.

After assisting in a delivery, So-jeong's mind wanders back to Lee Eun-hee's little girl. She rushes to the hospital to inquire about the child's whereabouts, only to be astounded by a sight that defies belief—Eun-hee is very much alive, with her daughter serenading her bedside. Father Yang confesses his deceit, motivated by a desire to prevent So-jeong from taking drastic measures.

So-jeong takes the little girl out for a meal, apologizing for her inability to save her mother. She gently asks if she's ready to let go of her mother now, receiving an affirmative nod. Stepping aside, So-jeong dials Gwang-chul, seeking his assistance. He clarifies that he will only lend his support if she complies with his terms.

Elsewhere, Ji-hoon unearths revealing details about So-jeong's past. Under her current name, she was once Woo Chae-young, a teenager whose mother battled cancer and ultimately took her own life by plunging into a lake. A curious twist: her mother's hands were found tied behind her back, with So-jeong initially suspected in the tragic incident.
