Episode 2 of "Mercy for None" kicks off with an enigmatic figure donning sunglasses stepping into a clandestine meeting with Chairman Ju-woon. Ju-woon leans forward, his curiosity piqued, inquiring if there's anything pertinent he ought to know regarding the untimely demise of Gi-seok. The man, with a sly twist of the lips, turns the tables on Ju-woon before assenting to delve into the matter.
Elsewhere, within the confines of the prosecutor's office, the special investigation division huddles around, dissecting the complexities of Gi-seok's death. They recount how Ju-woon and Bong-san, once underlings to Chairman Oh's formidable gang, orchestrated a power grab following Oh's son's tragic demise. This coup d'état catapulted them into positions of authority.
The Deputy Chief Prosecutor then tasks Geum-son with leading the investigation, but with a specific mandate in mind. Meanwhile, Gi-jun employs intimidation tactics against Hui-chan's brother, coercing a confession from him. Hui-chan, under duress, reveals the existence of "The Graveyard," a clandestine chat room where runaway youth are recruited for various odd jobs. It was through this very channel that Hui-chan was enlisted. To his astonishment, he learns that a lawyer by the name of Ms. Yoon has been retained on his behalf.
As Ms. Yoon exits the police station, Gi-jun slips into her car, his curiosity about "The Graveyard" insatiable. She meticulously outlines its operations, handing him the business card of Sim Seong-won, the CEO who operates under the alias NClean. When Gi-jun's attempts to locate Seong-won at his office prove futile, he places a call. Their conversation hints at a pre-existing acquaintance, with Seong-won's voice tinged with immediate alarm.
Upon his arrival, Seong-won is confronted with a harrowing sight—his employees lay bruised and battered, the office in a state of disarray. With a quiver in his voice and knees buckling, Seong-won pleads innocence, claiming to have merely obeyed orders. A couple of punches later, Seong-won caves, confessing that it was Gu Jun-mo who orchestrated the attack.
While confined to the comfort of his home, Chairman Ju-woon receives shocking news: Jun-mo was the mastermind behind the hit. Manager Seong-cheol, driven by a sense of duty, urges the company to intervene, but Ju-woon, wary of escalating tensions, resists the call for confrontation. Meanwhile, an eavesdropping Geum-son, equipped with a hidden listening device, catches every word of their delicate conversation.
As Seong-cheol prepares to depart, his path crosses with Hae-beom, who shares a similar desire for justice against Jun-mo. However, Seong-cheol asserts his authority, instructing Hae-beom to adhere strictly to his commands. Before bidding farewell to the residence, Geum-son drops a cryptic hint to Seong-cheol, subtly acknowledging his unintended audience to their private discussion.
Elsewhere, Manager Chun-seok seeks out Seong-won, inquiring whether he had disclosed Jun-mo's involvement to Gi-jun. Seong-won, without hesitation, confesses his act.
The two chairmen converge, and Ju-woon takes a moment to remind Bong-san of their solemn pact forged after their split from Chairman Oh—a pact promising mutual respect and severe repercussions for any transgression. Bong-san, refusal to believe his son capable of murdering Gi-seok, stands firm. Just as Ju-woon warns Bong-san about Gi-jun's impending suspicion, Gi-jun himself strides into the room, unaware of the earlier discussion.
He reveals his awareness of Jun-mo's deeds and confronts the chairmen, demanding to know if they had any hand in Gi-seok's untimely demise. Convinced of their innocence, Gi-jun issues a stern warning: to refrain from any action and observe from the sidelines. As Gi-jun exits, Chairman Bong-san, desperate and humbled, implores Chairman Ju-woon for assistance. Ju-woon remains unmoved until Bong-san offers the De’cro Hotel as a gesture of goodwill and desperation.
Later, Bong-san confronts his son, delivering a severe punishment for the humiliation and revenge Jun-mo sought against Gi-seok. Jun-mo, defiant yet broken, confesses his motive—a desperate need to avenge the shame Gi-seok had inflicted upon him.
Elsewhere, Gi-jun crosses paths with a gentleman named Choi Byung-ho. With a nostalgic tone, Gi-jun expresses his need for a bat, reminiscent of the ones he once wielded. Byung-ho informs him that crafting such a bat will necessitate some time. Additionally, he hands Gi-jun a metal brace intended for his injured ankle, offering practical assistance. Meanwhile, Hae-beom, equally driven by the thirst for vengeance, encounters Gi-jun, and they swiftly forge an alliance. They enlist the help of Lawyer Yoon and leverage The Graveyard's resources to uncover Jun-mo's whereabouts.
A fleeting memory brings us back to a pivotal moment where a man donning sunglasses dials Ju-woon and reveals that Jun-mo was behind the hit order. He further implores Ju-woon to ponder deeply: should he uphold their established rule, defy it, or forge a new path that might just propel him to the helm of the Bongsan Group? In an adjacent room, Geum-son, ears pricked, catches every word of this conversation. His gaze then falls upon a file, its contents revealing a search and seizure warrant targeting Lee Ju-woon—a cliffhanger that concludes Mercy for None Episode 2 with a bang.
