Midnight at the Pera Palace – Season 2 Episode 6 1

Jumping ahead to 1979, Ahmet and Esra are left reeling by this unexpected twist. The patriarchal grip is tighter than ever, imposing draconian rules upon women, confining them indoors and threatening anyone who dares to defy or rebel with imprisonment in a reformation center. Ahmet, determined to help, covertly escorts Esra to visit Eleni, only to find her peacefully departed. Eva, the resilient madam now in charge, senses the urgency for change and recognizes their unique time-traveling predicament.

With a renewed sense of purpose, Esra proposes a daring plan to halt the baby's time-traveling journey, hoping to unravel the web of chaos woven by Mumtaz. But how to reach him amidst the lavish grandeur of the Pera Palace? Eva ingeniously arranges for Ahmet and Esra to infiltrate the palace disguised as alluring dancers, their mission fraught with peril as Mumtaz arrives with a formidable entourage.

As the night unfolds, Ahmet finds himself perilously close to his target, sneaking into Mumtaz's chambers and forced to take refuge behind a towering bar laden with liquor, his heart pounding in the silent dance of deceit and determination. The stakes have never been higher, and the fate of two timelines hangs in the balance.

He departs just as fate would have it, only to witness Esra abruptly whisked offstage amidst a tumultuous scene. Ironically, this tumultuous turn of events leads to a heartwarming reunion with Halit, now matured and his heart filled with visions of this very encounter. Her initial shock stems from spotting Halit seated at Mumtaz's table earlier, inciting the very chaos that ensued. He then confides the reason behind his actions: he had stealthily procured the portal keys from Mumtaz and cast them into the depths of the Bosporus, ensnaring Mumtaz nearby to thwart any time-traveling endeavors. Despite the odds, Halit's unwavering belief persisted that destiny would eventually reunite him with Esra. However, his loyalty is tested when he reluctantly surrenders Esra to Mumtaz, a betrayal born of necessity to maintain his cover.

Ahmet's timely arrival reinvigorates their resolve to rescue Esra. Halit suggests seeking Halime, hoping she might hold the key to their salvation. Upon arriving at her abode, Halime proudly displays a photograph of her infant, revealing that she is not, in fact, Esra's mother.

The following day, Mumtaz's briefing proceeds as planned, but Esra remains captive, held upstairs. Halit's cunning words unlock the door to her prison, and he liberates her alongside the other imprisoned women. Upon the guards' return, they find the room eerily vacant, igniting Mumtaz's fury mid-briefing.

Regrouping with Halit, he unravels the tale's origins: an explosion, precise to the minute—October 17th, 11:57 AM, 1941, at the Bulgarian border. Mumtaz blamed the Soviets, igniting a conflict with the Nazis. Ahmet seizes upon this revelation, convinced their only escape lies in traveling back to that fateful moment and preventing it all. And the portal to the past? The Gateway of Truth.

With renewed purpose, Ahmet plunges through the Gateway, while Esra embarks on a more conventional time-travel journey. But upon her return, it becomes clear she has traversed too far, landing five months later than intended.
