As Episode 7 of *Monarch* unfolds, Tim awakens amidst the scorching sands of the desert, the sole survivor of a harrowing helicopter crash. Meanwhile, at the nearest airport, Cate and Kentaro are locked in a tense discussion, trying to unravel the mystery surrounding their father's clandestine dealings with Godzilla. Now, it's Cate who yearns for answers, her curiosity piqued, while her brother, Kentaro, yearns for nothing more than to flee from the chaos that engulfs them. Unbeknownst to them, danger lurks in the shadows, as someone prepares to abduct May right from the bathroom.
Frantic, Cate and Kentaro scour the premises, their search proving fruitless. Just then, Tim stumbles into the airport, and they pounce on him, convinced that Monarch is behind May's disappearance. Tim, catching his breath, begins to unravel a tale about their grandparents, revealing how they had opened his eyes to a world far grander and more mysterious than anyone could fathom. It was their father, he explains, who had ignited that same spark of curiosity within him.
A deal is struck amidst the tension. If Tim aids them in locating May, they, in turn, will assist him in tracking down Shaw. Meanwhile, at Monarch Outpost 88, Duvall and Shaw, flanked by armed henchmen, seize control of the facility. Dr. Barnes, who had been in the bathroom when the takeover occurred, manages to slip away unnoticed and alerts Verdugo to the situation.
Cate, her mind racing, suggests they reach out to May's sister, recalling May's desperate plea when she lay on the verge of death on the icy terrain. Tim interjects, revealing that May's sister's name isn't what they think; she's traveling under a false passport, her true identity being Corah. Thirty months prior, Corah had been recruited by a tech behemoth, AET. She had questioned her boss, Brenda, about her sudden hiring and the mysterious disappearance of a code she had created without her consent. Brenda, however, had coldly reminded her that everything at AET belonged to the company and that Corah needed to prove her worth.
Determined to uncover the truth, Cate, Kentaro, and Tim pay a visit to May's—or rather, Corah's—home. They concoct a story about being part of an online Manga group, claiming to have met in Japan. Corah's sister, wary, leaves the house to gauge their intentions. Eventually, they manage to convince her of their sincerity, and she opens up about AET. Corah, she reveals, had caused the company's system to crash before fleeing to Japan in a desperate bid for freedom.
Corah was presently engaged in a tense conversation with Brenda, who lamented that she could have been part of something truly extraordinary. However, Corah cut through her nostalgia, revealing that she knew the true nature of their clandestine activities. She had stumbled upon videos depicting their horrific and cruel experiments on monkeys.
Meanwhile, Tim triggered a Titan alarm still in its testing phase, creating a commotion in the city that they hoped would provide the perfect cover for infiltrating the company. Corah, desperate to flee to safety, was met with Brenda's steely resolve. Brenda saw through the facade; her eyes were firmly set on Godzilla and the enigmatic Monarch organization. She presented Corah with an alternative: infiltrate Monarch's ranks and serve as a spy for AET.
As Tim, Cate, and Kentaro stumbled upon Corah within the building and attempted to reason with her, she coldly dismissed them. She admitted to merely using them all along, refusing to accompany them. Upon their exit from AET, Verdugo awaited them, her anger palpable. Yet, Cate managed to persuade her to extend the same deal she had with Tim to Corah.
Corah, determined to bear the consequences of her actions alone, rejected the offer to become a spy. Just then, Brenda received a call from Verdugo, who had succeeded in swaying Brenda's decision now that Corah was free from immediate danger. Corah returned home, reuniting with Cate and Kentaro, and revealed that she preferred to be called May from now on.
Verdugo, swayed by Tim's arguments, decided to drag Monarch out of the shadows. She made a bold television announcement, claiming responsibility for the alarm and shedding light on their clandestine operations. As they watched the broadcast, Brenda spoke to an unseen contact, noting that her agreement with Verdugo could prove highly advantageous. She mentioned that something in the announcement would serve as an excellent statement for AET's new corporate mission, and an Apex Cybernetics logo flickered onto her screen.
In the meantime, Shaw and his team embarked on another expedition to Alaska. They successfully lured the ice titan and unleashed a specialized bomb upon it. The explosions tore through the creature, leaving behind a massive crater. Shaw couldn't help but revel in their apparent victory.
