Episode 6 of "Mr. & Mrs. Smith" kicks off with an intriguing scene of John and Jane attending a couples' therapy session. The air is tense as they reveal their misalignment and Jane's refusal to replace John at work, despite their boss's suggestion. The discussion turns to their differing views on having children, with Jane struggling to articulate her reasons amidst their professional guise as software engineers.

As the therapist probes deeper into their living and working arrangement, John confesses that their coexistence can be challenging, hinting at Jane's controlling nature. A vivid flashback takes us to their previous weekend mission, where John eagerly takes the lead, infiltrating a gambling den as the cousin of a man named Khalif. His objective: to target a man clad in yellow.

During the therapy session, Jane complains that John is taking too long, prompting a heated exchange. John counters that Jane simply doesn't appreciate his proficiency. Jane lashes out, accusing him of racism based on a past incident where he made insensitive remarks about her heritage. John counters that the real issue was Jane's subsequent takeover, recalling how she took matters into her own hands by shooting the men from her sniper's perch on the roof.

Suddenly, a knock interrupts the session as the therapist, working from home, is forced to attend to the unexpected visitor. As she steps away, John continues to argue about how Jane nearly cost him his life. The therapist returns, brokering a truce between them. She encourages Jane to allow John to take a more active role, while also urging John to offer his assistance more willingly. To lighten the mood, she shares a whimsical story about encountering a monkey in the wild, but their time is up before she can finish. The Smiths exit, snickering at her anecdote.

The following week, the therapist greets them with a probing question: Has Jane allowed John to take the lead? A flashback reveals their pursuit of a man, with John struggling to keep up. As Jane boards an elevator with their quarry, engaging in a fierce tussle, John is forced to scale fifteen flights of stairs. The tense climax sees Jane throwing the man off the roof, her voice filled with fury as she curses him to die. John's laughter erupts, breaking the tension and leaving the viewer eager for more.

She believed he was deliberately undermining her, yet he maintained he was merely amused by her remarks. Their dispute escalated over who should assume the leadership role and whether Jane had repeatedly rescued John. John asserted that initially, he possessed greater experience, but now he sensed that she no longer held him in high esteem. Jane vehemently denied this, reassuring him that she never felt he was hindering her progress. She proposed that whenever tensions rose, they should declare a time-out and take a twenty-minute break to cool down.

During the subsequent session, it was evident that the situation had worsened. The therapist could discern that something had transpired at work. They had ventured into the woods in search of someone, with Jane claiming they were lost while John insisted they were not. During the session, Jane recounted how John had exhibited a macho attitude. John attributed the problem to a book.

Deep within the woods, their conversation shifted to topics of joy and sorrow. Jane mentioned the book "The Prophet," only to realize that he had never read it. She confronted him about lying to her long ago when he had claimed "The Prophet" was his favorite book. This led to a heated argument about how John had been condescending to her throughout the day, while they built a shelter and hunted for food.

When she mentioned his habit of calling his mother five times a day, he lashed out at her, accusing her of being emotionally distant and disconnected from her family. She demanded to know who his emergency contact was and was disheartened when he revealed it was his mother.

The therapist reminded them that their job was merely a profession and they were free to leave their personal relationship behind at any time. John suggested that they ask Hihi to assign them separate projects for a while. Before departing, the therapist handed them a flash drive containing recordings of their sessions. It was apparent that cameras were scattered throughout the room.

After they left, the therapist relaxed in her chair, but her son's urgent call interrupted her peace. There was a fire, he cried. Outside, the Smiths hurriedly ran to their car and got in, arguing about whether they should seek a new therapist or not as the final episode of Mr. & Mrs. Smith drew to a close.
