Elsewhere, Mari confides in Demetrio her intentions to depart for Mexico, perhaps never to return, haunted by the notion of letting Fausto down. Demetrio, ever supportive, urges her to seek her bliss. The following morning, as they contemplate Fausto's ashes' release, Ercole has a change of heart. He entrusts the nuns with his father's remains, asking them to scatter them in Brazil—a final journey for a wanderlust soul, fulfilling Fausto's dream of travel.

The court decides in favor of Lucia retaining custody of the children, creating a wedge between Ercole and Libero. Libero accuses his brother of undermining their mother in court, unaware that Ercole merely articulated his preference for life with Lucia and the family. Mari embarks on her journey to Mexico, though Demetrio persuades her to reconsider, leading to a passionate reunion and a kiss before their temporary separation. Valerio encounters a new acquaintance during his mandated counseling, urging his mother to embrace Sergio's presence in their lives. Ultimately, Lucia agrees to marry Sergio.

A poignant flashback takes us to 2023, shortly after Fausto's diagnosis, when he attempted reconciliation with Sarah. The endeavor failed spectacularly, culminating in a heated argument. Sarah insisted on accessing Fausto's medical records, aiming to leverage them for custody. The children, saddened, witnessed the spectacle, with Libero stepping in to shield his mother from Fausto's stern rebuke.

"My Family" concludes on a melancholic note. Libero flees with his mother, abandoning Ercole. Ercole, steadfast, refuses to abandon his post. The series wraps with a nostalgic flashback to Fausto's last beach trip with the kids, where he made them solemnly pledge never to part. Ironically, they find themselves estranged. In the closing scene, the kids wave as their father ventures into the sea, almost as if bidding him farewell, releasing him to the ocean's embrace.
