During a school newspaper meeting, Nathan expresses his passion for writing a music column. However, after witnessing an interaction between Nathan and Zach, Skylar decides to reassign the music column, tasking Nathan with an article on school lunches instead. Subsequently, a whisper among the boys reaches Cole's ears: Carlos, seeking to bolster his team, is contemplating Dylan's recruitment, contingent on continued tips sourced through Cole. This revelation fuels Cole's growing frustration. Jackie, attempting to offer solace, finds herself rebuffed as Cole insists she seek comfort elsewhere.
Elsewhere, George and Katherine embark on a nostalgic date at a beloved restaurant, reliving cherished memories from their past.

Nikhil steps in to intervene, reluctantly bringing an early end to the evening's festivities, much to Jackie's disappointment. Erin too, feels a pang of irritation, sharing with Danny on their ride home how she often felt like a second choice during her time with Cole, and tonight, she senses a recurrence of that neglect with Danny. Danny, contrite, soothes the moment by playing a melody, inviting them to resume their interrupted dance within the confines of his car.
Seeking solace from the turmoil, Dylan finds refuge at the pizza parlor where Kiley toils, offering to lend a hand with the cleanup.
