In the fourth episode of "My Royal Nemesis," the narrative unfolds with Se-gye acquiring Doran Entertainment and offering Seo-ri a chilled water bottle for her face. Her suspicion lingers, questioning his true intentions, yet he dismisses her as just an investment. Their brief interaction in his office, where she attempts to open the window blinds to let in the sunlight, contrasts starkly with her dreary, windowless room. As they share a fleeting moment, Se-gye abruptly kicks her out, leaving her puzzled by his erratic behavior. Despite his hot and cold treatment, she speculates that he might be a softie at heart.

Se-gye's turmoil over his feelings is met with Son's straightforward assertion that he has no feelings at all. Outside, a stray dog clings to Kang, who shoos it away but seems to have a soft spot for it. Back at home, she observes Gwang-nam, a devoted fan of Ji-hyo, avidly binge-watching her shows. The landlord elucidates that fans are those who care for an actor's well-being, and celebrities reciprocate with gifts and letters. Kang concludes that Se-gye's acts of kindness are merely fan behavior.
To counter Mun-do's investment in Biojei and the entertainment agency, Se-gye appeals to his grandfather for a loan. Dal-su hesitates, given his penchant for profit and miserly ways, similar to Se-gye's. The old man ventures to his regular restaurant but finds it fully occupied. He spots Kang and agrees to share a table if he pays for her meal. Her astute assessment of his face enables her to order the finest dishes, exploiting him. However, she wins Dal-su over by ensuring she makes the most of her money's worth.
She procures bones for the stray dog and attempts to sneak it home when the cops call. Mun-do has paid the TV station director to sue Se-gye and Kang for assault.
This rephrased version retains the original meaning while enhancing the narrative with more vivid descriptions and a smoother flow of ideas.
As Biojei tackles Se-gye's lawsuit, he rushes to the station to personally assist Kang, further strengthening her belief that he is a devoted fan. She finds it amusing as he insists it's merely his duty to care for his employees. As a token of gratitude, she gives him the dog since her room isn't suitable for it. First, however, she ensures that Mun-do doesn't visit Se-gye frequently. Se-gye, feeling envious, recalls a memory where the King enjoyed killing animals, prompting her to chase away a beloved stray. Presently, Se-gye is allergic to dogs and keeps sneezing. He tries to offload the dog onto Son, who is a cat dad, but fails. Se-gye wants to discard the dog but doesn't want to upset Kang.
To keep Se-gye content, CEO Hong showers Kang with attention, feeding her and booking several gigs, which annoys Ji-hyo. Kang is assigned homework to watch Season 1 of the show she's booked for. She becomes a binge-watcher, watching shows day and night, which even surprises Gwang-nam. On the day of contract signing, Kang gives Se-gye a handwritten letter expressing her gratitude. It's written in hanja, the Joseon script. He grumbles but gets to translating it. It's quite poetic and he's amused by her ridiculousness. There are also sketches, and her sketch of Se-gye is captioned "my amazing fan." He obviously mistranslates it as "my amazing man," which freaks him out, thinking she's in love with him.
With her signing bonus, Kang moves to the rooftop. She builds a kennel for the dog, excited to get him back.
But Son has already discovered the dog's rightful owner. Se-gye worries that Kang might miss the dog. As the announcement of the Chail Songjin Resort is made, Mun-do's public politeness leaves even the aunts puzzled about when he's being genuine. Jealous, Se-gye warns him to stay away from Kang. Mun-do deliberately provokes him by mentioning his mother, which earns Dal-su's wrath as Mun-do intended.
Kang has an interview and visits Grandma Nam to learn more about Seo-ri. It turns out that Seo-ri had an accident and lost her memories, and Nam thinks that something similar has happened again. Some thugs show up, trying to pressure Nam into selling her restaurant, which is in the Chail Songjin Resort area and the only one holding out. They try to get rough with her, but Kang beats them all up.
On the way home, Dal-su scolds Se-gye and emphasizes how Mun-do takes on heavy responsibilities like trying to buy out a stubborn restaurant owner. He points out the restaurant, which is Nam's. Shocked, Se-gye stops the car and saves Kang from a thug who tries to knife her. She thanks him and is also grateful that he found the dog's real owner.
Dal-su is confused about how they know each other, and Kang explains that Se-gye is her fan and the only one who has been by her side. Worried that his grandfather might take it the wrong way, Se-gye claims he just helped her out of pity. This upsets Kang. Once everyone leaves, Grandma Nam asks who Kang is, realizing that she isn't Seo-ri.
Mun-do shows up and offers Kang a deal. If she can make Se-gye fall in love with her, Mun-do will ensure that she and her grandmother are paid well. He hopes to use Kang to toy with Se-gye. She realizes that Mun-do is just as evil as the King. A flashback shows how the King kills the stray dog, has it cooked, and makes her eat it for trying to one-up him. She begs for mercy, and he orders her to become his brother's lover.
At present, Se-gye doesn't understand why he feels bad for hurting Kang. Kang is upset that she is only ever valued based on her usefulness. Nam had been the only one to unconditionally love her, and now she has lost her too. Kang breaks the dog house and starts crying.
Se-gye shows up and she retorts that she doesn't need his pity. She scolds him for leading her on, and he asks what if he hadn't. He finally rants that she confuses him and he cannot figure out his feelings - whether it's love or hate. She says they should confirm his feelings and touches his chest. He declares it's not enough and hugs her.
