My Troublesome Star – K-drama Episode 2

Published: Sep 04 2025

The second episode of "My Troublesome Star" kicks off with the arrival of Du-won, now a prominent CEO, at the hospital. His recent troubles have been more personal, specifically affecting his posterior. To his astonishment, he encounters Cheong-ja within these hallowed halls, immediately recognizing the scar that adorns her arm. Instead of approaching her, however, he makes a hasty retreat.

My Troublesome Star – K-drama Episode 2 1

While Du-won sets his minions to work investigating Cheong-ja's presence, Dokgo Cheol escorts her back to her modest student accommodation. Cheong-ja, still reeling from the sudden twist in her life, finds herself utterly bewildered. As she steps inside, the atmosphere grows eerily reminiscent of a scene plucked from "Strangers From Hell," with the lights flickering ominously. Fortunately, it proves to be a mere false alarm, sparing us a detour into horror territory.

Kwon Do-joon, the goshiwon's gruff overseer, assists Cheong-ja to her tiny room, equipped with nothing more than a single bed (its frame conveniently broken) and a modest wardrobe. The stark contrast between her current circumstances and those of the first episode is impossible to ignore. Do-joon displays little tolerance for her struggles with 2025 technology, adding to her woes. Moreover, she has been deserted by her family, including her sister Baek-ja and brother Du-won, the reasons for which remain shrouded in mystery.

Cheong-ja turns to the internet for answers, discovering that there has been no news of Se-ra since the fateful accident two decades ago, suggesting she vanished without a trace. Clarity does emerge, however, concerning Hui-yeong. She has ascended to stardom, honored with the Best New Actress award and on the brink of attending Cannes.

Meanwhile, Dokgo Cheol returns to the precinct, pondering Cheong-ja's fate. He delves into her purse, which she inadvertently left in his vehicle, and his eyes fall upon a business card from their shared past, stirring old memories.

Dokgo Cheol arrives to return Cheong-ja's purse, which she had inadvertently left behind in his vehicle, only to find that events unfold in an unanticipated manner. A rather humiliating sequence ensues, involving a rooftop mishap that concludes with them landing in the bed of a passing truck, but eventually, their minor dispute is smoothly resolved.

When Dokgo Cheol inquires about Seung-pil and the mysterious number 2668 inscribed on the back of a business card she handed him, Cheong-ja, grappling with amnesia, can only shake her head, devoid of answers. Nevertheless, this exchange ignites a spark of curiosity within Cheong-ja. As dawn breaks, she embarks on a challenging quest to reconstruct fragments of her past, navigating the labyrinthine subway system, escalating costs, and more. Inevitably, she finds herself in a pickle, prompting Dokgo Cheol to reluctantly come to her aid, despite his displeasure. After footing the bill for her infraction, he promptly blocks her number, exasperated by the ordeal.

Meanwhile, Cheong-ja stumbles upon her sister, Baek-ja, at a dumpling shop. Far from pleased with the current state of affairs, Cheong-ja's dissatisfaction pales in comparison to Baek-ja's irritation upon discovering her sister's memory loss. Adding insult to injury, Cheong-ja's niece is equally embarrassed by her presence.

It transpires that Cheong-ja is employed at a cafeteria, a setting that initially leaves her feeling utterly out of sync with the seasoned chefs around her. However, the instant she grasps a knife, muscle memory takes over, and she excels in preparing kimchi, much to everyone's astonishment.

Tragedy strikes on her way home, however, as a sudden hard brake on the bus causes her to spill kimchi across the vehicle and onto a rude student. Cheong-ja is compelled to clean up the mess while the student's mother, intent on suing her, enters the fray.

Elsewhere, Hui-yeong convenes a meeting with Du-won as her contract nears expiration in a month. She scoffs at the new terms proposed, but Du-won quickly reminds her of her subordinate position and the secrets that bind them together. He taunts her about Se-ra's disappearance and her perpetual role as a substitute. Frustrated, Hui-yeong retaliates by splashing a liquid—perhaps soju, given the circumstances—onto him.

Back at the precinct, Dokgeo Cheol arrives and meticulously examines the truck driver's navigation logs—the very same driver who collided with Cheong-ja that fateful night. His past connections to the student residence where she is staying cast a dark shadow over his innocence. Matters take a ominous turn when Cheong-ja receives a summons to a secluded, dimly lit alleyway to resolve these entangling debts. Suspecting a setup, Dokgeo Cheol springs into action, rushing to her aid. Yet, fatefully, before he can arrive on the scene, Cheong-ja is abruptly seized by an unseen figure, causing her phone to clatter to the ground as she spins around in shock, just as the episode reaches its cliffhanger conclusion.
