Elsewhere, Mike is hot on the trail of an ex-Auza employee who holds the key to unlocking the mysteries surrounding Auza. This individual is Jason Cardenas, who has been in hiding for years, nursing a deep-seated hatred for AUZA and harboring plans to bring the company to its knees. Jason has gone to great lengths to set up an extensive server room, with the sole intention of hacking into AUZA City's systems. With Mike's promise of protection, Jason agrees to come out of hiding and lend his expertise to the mission.
Jason breaks into the AUZA City server and stumbles upon a damning file containing social security numbers intertwined with prices, hinting at the company's illicit dealings in procuring fake identities. Mike's eyes widen in shock as he spots Emma's name listed among them, but their investigation is abruptly cut short when they are summarily ejected from the server. The company, swift in its response, deploys a team to their location to apprehend them. In a harrowing escape, Mike and Jason narrowly elude capture.
