Oh My Ghost Clients – K-drama Episode 2 1

As their heated debate ensues over their next course of action, Mu-jin's eyes widen in fresh alarm. This time, it's the spectral figure sharing the car's seat beside him that sends shivers down his spine. Hee-joo and Gyeon-woo dismiss his distress with skepticism, prompting Mu-jin to beg for an immediate drop-off at the hospital.

At the hospital, a doctor refers Mu-jin to a facility specializing in traditional Korean medicine. The practitioners diagnose a blockage in his energy flow and administer a series of treatments. Yet, despite these efforts, Mu-jin's spectral visitor persists. Upon his return home, Gyeon-woo and Hee-joo taunt Mu-jin, urging him to confront and converse with the ghost rather than ignoring it.

The apparition reveals himself to be Lee Min-uk, a student whose life was tragically cut short at the factory a couple of years prior. Initially, he had embarked on an internship, with his mother sending him off with a mixture of warmth and reluctant approval. Upon reaching the factory, however, Min-uk's innocence and desperation for a permanent position were cruelly exploited by the managers.

Rather than offering him a dorm room as promised, they housed him in a modest room on the factory premises, where he formed an unbreakable bond with Nimal, a foreign worker sharing his quarters. The two became close confidants, leaning on each other for support and companionship amidst the alien environment.

As time progressed, Min-uk's workload grew increasingly burdened with responsibilities, yet he was left without adequate training or the necessary protective equipment. He was pressured to mend malfunctioning machinery without compromising the daily production schedule. Tragically, on the eve of Chuseok, a fatal accident occurred, claiming Min-uk's life. As Mu-jin listens intently to Min-uk's haunting narrative, he slips into a trance, witnessing the unfolding events through Min-uk's haunted eyes. Observing this transformation, Gyeon-woo and Hee-joo are filled with apprehension, fearing that Mu-jin might be possessed. Desperate to jolt him out of his trance, they resort to repeatedly slapping him until he finally regains consciousness. Understandably, Mu-jin is left feeling resentful towards Gyeon-woo for the forcefulness of his actions.

Having witnessed and heard more of Mu-jin's encounters with the spectral presence, Gyeon-woo and Hee-joo resolve to lend their aid. Gyeon-woo reaches out to a journalist acquaintance, hoping for insights into Min-uk's case. However, she reveals that she was hindered by her superiors and could only uncover that the company had reached a settlement with Min-uk's mother. Later, she confesses that her attempts to delve deeper were thwarted by higher authorities. Meanwhile, Hee-joo, feeling a pang of jealousy upon witnessing Gyeon-woo's interaction with his female acquaintance, claims spuriously to be in a relationship with her.

As the trio delves deeper into the mystery, they seek out Min-uk's professor for insights, only to encounter his reluctance to aid their cause. Persisting, they eventually connect with Min-uk's mother, who reveals a harrowing tale of having been duped into resolving the matter swiftly, with the company expertly erasing their tracks. Throughout this poignant conversation, Min-uk sits quietly behind his mother, tears streaming down his face as he listens intently.

Moved by Min-uk's mother's heart-wrenching story, the trio vows to uncover the truth and aid Min-uk in finding closure. While poring over the company's incident report, Mu-jin spots a subtle clue that could prove pivotal. In the meantime, Gyeon-woo offers heartfelt solace to Min-uk's mother, seeking to ease her burden.

To further their investigation, they devise a plan to send Gyeon-woo undercover into the factory. Lee Jang-sung, the oblivious director, hires Gyeon-woo on the spot, utterly unaware of the covert recording in progress. Gyeon-woo is paired with Nimal by the supervisor, who similarly fails to notice the camera phone hidden in plain sight. However, Nimal catches a glimpse of it and tries to steer clear of Gyeon-woo, wary of potential repercussions.

Outside the factory walls, Hee-joo and Mu-jin watch the unfolding drama through their recording device, diligently taking notes. Their parked car, a silent sentinel, goes unnoticed by anyone within. Inside, Gyeon-woo attempts to garner Nimal's trust by mentioning Min-uk, stirring an emotional response in him. Yet, Nimal's fears of deportation if he loses his job keep him silent. Unfortunately, Gyeon-woo's disguise crumbles when the factory owner arrives and begins questioning him intently.

In a twist of fate, one of the staff members reveals that he saw Gyeon-woo during an inopportune moment – when the scammers last visited. Chaos ensues as the director orders the workers to apprehend Gyeon-woo. Fortunately, Mu-jin and Hee-joo rush to his aid, but their escape is thwarted by the timely arrival of the police.

The owner urgently implores the police to apprehend the trio for their offenses of trespassing and unauthorized recording. Nevertheless, Nimal, loyal to his core, steps forward to defend his friend Min-uk. He courageously unveils the video he secretly filmed on the fateful night Min-uk met his untimely demise. It transpires that Min-uk's life was cruelly cut short during the Chuseok holiday, a time when he was supposed to be enjoying a well-deserved break. Compelled by a heartless supervisor to repair a malfunctioning machine, Min-uk's upper torso was gruesomely pulled into its machinery.

The revelation deepens with the chilling discovery that Jang-sung, in a panic, contacted his father for assistance. Coldly disregarding human life, the father instructed Jang-sung to dismiss all workers and abandon Min-uk to his fate, allowing him to succumb to his grievous injuries. Jang-sung and the supervisor callously sat by, watching the young man's life ebb away without the slightest hint of compassion. The graphic video evokes shockwaves among the spectators, turning the workers against their callous employers. In a fit of rage, Jang-sung strikes Gyeon-woo, prompting his immediate arrest. Mu-jin, ever meticulous, enumerates the myriad crimes that will ensnare them all in legal consequences.

Following the resolution of the case, the trio rejoices at a local eatery, tuning into the news coverage that shines a light on their triumph. Mu-jin stops by a convenience store, where he witnesses Yoon-jae, the clerk, enduring mistreatment. Sadly, Yoon-jae politely declines Mu-jin's offer of assistance.

The following day, the trio, accompanied by Min-uk's ethereal presence, pays a visit to his mourning mother. Overjoyed to see justice finally served, she warmly invites them to share a meal. Min-uk, through subtle gestures, encourages Mu-jin to accept, a gesture that brings a semblance of solace to his mother's broken heart. As they depart, Mu-jin bids farewell in Min-uk's trademark manner, prompting an emotional outbreak from his mother who, in that poignant moment, embraces him as if he were her flesh-and-blood son. Min-uk's spirit, finally at peace, ascends to the afterlife. A mysterious figure, watching from afar, beams with a knowing smile.

As dusk descends, the trio ambles homeward, their hearts light with the knowledge that Mu-jin's ghostly obligations have been lifted. In the midst of their cheerful conversation, Mu-jin's eyes catch the sight of a transformer on an electric pole sparking ominously. In the blink of an eye, an electrical wire snaps, hurtling towards him with lethal intent.
