Episode 2 of *Old Money* kicks off with Arda informing Osman that he has a later rendezvous planned with Nihal and is eager to hear Osman's final verdict on the boat deal. Arda had made a promise to Nihal to take her on a trip to her favourite bakery, a place she had fondly reminisced about with a tinge of disappointment from her childhood days when it was shuttered.
Osman, with a tone of finality, instructs Arda to phone Nihal and declare the boat-making deal dead in the water. He insists that Arda make the call right there in his office. Yet, Nihal stands her ground, insisting on a face-to-face meeting, prompting Arda to set off to collect her.
While waiting for Arda's arrival, Nihal enjoys a drink with Berna, seeking to unravel the mystery behind Osman's frequent changes of heart. Berna advises her not to heed Engin's words, given his deep-seated animosity towards Osman. She also cautions that confiding in Arda won't sway the outcome, as Osman holds the reins of decision-making.
Upon picking Nihal up, Arda is taken aback by the revelation that Nihal and Berna are close friends. Nihal clarifies that their friendship dates back to their high school days, praising Berna's innate leadership qualities and considering the Buluts fortunate to have her in their fold.
After a delightful outing with Nihal, Arda makes a pit stop at Osman's office. He's bubbling with enthusiasm about the time spent with Nihal, describing them as kindred spirits. He raves about Nihal's wild spirit, brilliance, and her prowess as a fantastic artist who is deeply passionate about her work, her eyes sparkling with excitement whenever she delves into discussions about her career.
Osman, however, is fixated on the "wild" aspect, but Arda doesn't elaborate further. He simply states that Nihal fits Osman's type and that she'll be joining them for dinner at their place later. Nihal, determined, insists on having a heart-to-heart with the family and hearing Osman's stance on the boat deal firsthand. Arda, observing Nihal's tactful approach, thinks to himself how diplomatic she truly is.
Engin arrives at Nihal's house just as she is about to depart for dinner with the Bulut family. He declares his presence is solely for her and attempts to dissuade Nihal from attending the dinner, convinced that the Buluts are sending a driver to pick her up in a bid to exert control over her. Nihal inquires about the deal struck between Engin and Osman, to which he responds that he is maintaining his distance but, if provoked, possesses the power to dismantle them. Despite his fervent pleas, Nihal proceeds to the dinner.
Upon Nihal's arrival, Osman expresses a desire to leave, prompting her to question if he is fleeing. This comment makes him reconsider his decision. The dinner unfolds delightfully, with the group enjoying a harmonious rapport. Mahir inquires whether Nihal plans to stay in the area, and she reveals that she has a job offer in France but has taken leave to manage some family affairs.
After dinner, Osman joins Nihal for further drinks and a cigar, their mutual attraction intensifying as they resist the urge to kiss. Osman even treats her to a drink served in his cherished whisky glasses. As she prepares to depart, he whispers that they are both on a path to inevitable defeat, despite their histories of unbroken success. Osman escorts her outside and assists in tying her shoes. Nihal, utterly charmed, cannot help but smile and think fondly of Osman, all while Engin observes her through binoculars.
The following day, Arda enters the boardroom after Berna concludes her meeting. He invites her to dinner, but she declines, citing intermittent fasting and a lack of hunger. Arda struggles to articulate his true intentions, even under Berna's gentle prodding, leaving her feeling disappointed.
Meanwhile, Mahir watches Asli perform at the bar. After the show, they retire to her place and engage in intimacy. Asli subtly hints that he should stay the night, but Mahir dresses promptly afterward. When she mentions wanting to watch a newly released movie on Netflix, he inquires if she would like them to watch it together. Asli expresses hesitation, and when Mahir asks if she wants to deepen their relationship, she suggests keeping things casual, citing her busy schedule with her album.
The next day, the Buluts arrive at Nihal's office for a meeting regarding the boat design. Engin has sent Nihal an administrative assistant named Gokhan, who immediately begins flirting with Songul upon the Buluts' arrival. The meeting proceeds smoothly, and Nihal enthusiastically presents the designs. When the topic of funding arises, Nihal assures them of her ability to secure it. However, as the meeting concludes, Osman proposes accelerating the timeline by four months.
Nihal is well aware that yielding to Osman's request will drive up the costs, but when she catches sight of Osman's unwavering determination to restrict her choices, she reluctantly gives in. As soon as they part ways, Nihal finds herself engulfed in a wave of panic, gasping for breath while her eyes blaze red and her face flushes with a feverish hue. Osman, glancing back over his shoulder, spots her disheveled state; his expression crumbles into concern as he halts in his tracks to observe her. Nihal, sensing his gaze, musters up her courage and lifts her head, meeting his eyes with a forced yet radiant smile.
Later that evening, Mahir finds himself lost in contemplation, debating whether or not to send Asli a text proposing a movie night together. Ultimately, he talks himself out of it. Meanwhile, Asli, filled with anticipation, keeps her eyes glued to her phone, yearning for his message to appear.
As the episode draws to a close, Osman makes his way to Nihal's residence. From her window, she spots his approach and descends to the dock. Osman's eyes fixate on the dock, a flood of memories washing over him as he recalls a younger Nihal, beaming and waving enthusiastically at him. Nihal, her heart pounding in her chest, beckons him closer, only to have a sudden change of heart and withdraw her invitation.
