Old Money – Season 1 Episode 8 1

Does Osman end up acquiring Nihal’s mansion? Nihal’s father approaches the Buluts with a proposition. Eager to liberate Nihal from the life she has been postponing with Engin, he proposes that the Buluts purchase the house. This, he explains, would allow him to settle his debts, shutter the business, and give Nihal the opportunity to live the life she truly deserves. Osman listens intently, then suggests they deliberate with the family before providing an answer. However, Mahir, sensing Osman's true inclinations, knows he will prioritize Nihal over the mansion.

A series of profound misunderstandings ensue, leading Osman to believe that Nihal has chosen Engin over him. After attending a dinner party at Engin’s residence, he becomes convinced that Nihal is on the verge of leaving him. Given that she never reached out following her brief apology, Osman resolves not to pressure her, hoping she will come to him on her own terms. Nevertheless, after the dinner, he instructs Mahir to contact Nihal’s father and accept the offer. Thus, in the end, Osman secures the mansion.

What transpires between Engin and Nihal? Engin musters the courage to confess his deep-seated feelings for Nihal, admitting that he has been in love with her for a considerable time. He believes that now is the opportune moment for them to unite, and he vows to cherish her, promising never to break her heart and to love her until they are old and grey. The final episode, however, leaves Nihal’s response to Engin’s proposal ambiguous.

Nonetheless, Engin extends an invitation to the Buluts for dinner at his home, creating an impression that he is embarking on a new chapter with Nihal. He even has workers laboring overnight to renovate his building, hinting at a significant transformation in his life. He continues to boast about his ability to acquire anything he desires, insinuating that Nihal is now within his grasp.

Later, Osman learns from Arda that Nihal is embarking on a lengthy trip to Europe with Engin. Arda mentions that Berna informed him Engin had even purchased a ring. Yet, when Nihal departs from the mansion, she does so alone, boarding the plane with tears streaming down her face.

Thus, it remains unclear whether the events at the end of the finale were part of Engin’s calculated scheme to drive a wedge between Osman and Nihal, or if Nihal had indeed accepted his proposal.

Do Mahir and Asli manage to rekindle their romance? After the calamitous dinner with Engin, the family discovers Asli waiting patiently outside their doorstep. A heartfelt conversation ensues between Mahir and Asli, during which Mahir candidly admits his profound foolishness and the pain he inflicted upon her.

Asli begins to feel that her decision to come to him was a misstep, believing Mahir no longer has need of her. However, Mahir fervently confesses that he's been going insane without her by his side, pleading desperately for another opportunity. He declares that he cannot imagine a life without her and vows to be a better partner, no matter what the future holds. Moved by his sincerity, Asli relents, and the two share an intense, passionate kiss that seals their reconciliation.

What about the fate of Songul and Gokhan? The final episode sheds light on Songul's hesitation to embrace Gokhan's advances, primarily due to his younger age. Yet, towards the climax of the episode, her perspective shifts after her friends mock another woman who is involved with a younger partner.

Seizing the opportunity for a private conversation with this woman, Songul's mindset undergoes a transformation. Elif imparts wisdom, stating that if people are gossiping about her, it signifies her triumph. She has chosen to embark on a daring path that might seem contradictory to others, but it brings her immense joy.

It matters not what outsiders may say, for she is the one living this life and the sole person who truly comprehends its essence. With newfound resolve, Songul makes a bold move and heads straight to Gokhan's residence. This time, Gokhan eschews the elevator and rushes to meet her. Their reunion culminates in a passionate, intimate encounter, defying societal conventions and embracing a connection that is both profound and meaningful.

Do Berna and Arda end up together? In a moment charged with emotion, Berna finally musters the courage to bare her heart to Arda during a gathering with their colleagues. Arda's cheeks flush crimson, and an unspoken connection binds their gazes, making it impossible for them to look away from each other throughout the presentation. With unmistakable clarity, Berna signals her choice of Arda by extending an invitation for a dinner date after the meeting concludes. Their colleagues become silent spectators, watching through the glass windows as Berna and Arda share a tender kiss outside the office, their love blossoming in full view.

Do Nihal and Osman end up together? The episode unfolds amidst a swirling vortex of escalating misunderstandings between the two. Nihal is misled into thinking that Osman remains indifferent to her impending departure, while Engin plants the false notion in Osman's mind that Nihal has chosen him over all others. Neither Nihal nor Osman takes the initiative to seek out the other and clarify the situation; Nihal refrains from seeking Osman to explain her heartfelt apology at the boat unveiling, and Osman harbors the belief that Nihal will come to him once she reaches a definitive decision. Their inaction becomes a tragic dance of missed opportunities, as each waits for the other to make the first move, ultimately leading to a disastrous outcome.

As the episode nears its climax, Osman is jolted into realization that he must seek direct clarification from Nihal, for all that has transpired is but hearsay. The sky unleashes a torrential downpour, and the streets are choked with traffic. Undeterred, Osman chooses to brave the treacherous waves and sets out in his boat to find Nihal.

Meanwhile, Nihal is busy packing her bags, her heart heavy with anticipation and uncertainty. The relentless rain and gridlocked traffic delay her departure, but eventually, a taxi arrives. She climbs in, yet she lingers outside the gate, as if holding onto a sliver of hope that Osman will appear.

The sea is wild, and in the midst of his perilous journey, Osman loses consciousness for a brief moment after striking his head. While unconscious, memories flood his mind—his mother's face, and the boat ride where he first laid eyes on Nihal. He had previously confirmed that Nihal was the girl from his childhood memories, making her an integral part of the few precious recollections he still holds dear.

Osman regains consciousness and finally arrives at the mansion. Nihal's father meets him at the dock, handing him the keys to the house with a somber expression. He informs Osman that Nihal has already left, and the news shatters Osman's heart. In a fit of despair, he casts the mansion keys aside, for they pale in comparison to the value of Nihal's presence.

Meanwhile, Nihal arrives at the airport, alone and without any luggage, and steps onto the plane, her heart heavy with unspoken words and unresolved feelings.
