Episode 2 of "One High School Heroes" resumes right where the thrilling cliffhanger left off, with Ui-Gyeom quickly absorbing Seung-joon's combat prowess and landing a decisive punch. However, his momentary advantage fades swiftly as Seung-joon counters with a flurry of his own blows. In a moment of desperation, Ui-Gyeom recalls Yoon-ki's advice and clutches onto Seung-joon, resulting in a chaotic tumble down a staircase. Amid the confusion, Seung-joon's knee takes a harsh impact, giving Ui-Gyeom the window he needs to end the fray by overpowering his opponent until Seung-joon can barely stand. Hong-ii and Jin-woo stand in awe, while Yoon-ki is absolutely astounded by Ui-Gyeom's tenacity and resilience in the face of adversity.
A text from his father interrupts Ui-Gyeom's thoughts, prompting him to ask Yoon-ki for a change of clothes. Yoon-ki, ever the thoughtful friend, hands him a cream to conceal the battle scars adorning his face. Ui-Gyeom then discovers his father in a heated dispute with the academy tutors over his exam results. For a fleeting instant, his mind drifts back to the intense confrontation with Seung-joon, only to be jolted back to reality by his mother's gentle wakeup call the next morning.
At breakfast, Ui-Gyeom displays a renewed vigor, even requesting an extra serving of rice from his mother. He vows to his father that he will put in even more effort at the academy. When Ui-Gyeom arrives at school, Seung-joon, Hong-II, and Jin-woo face the wrath of their senior bullies in the bullying ring, who demand an explanation for a freshman's victory over a perceived top-tier fighter. The ruthless leader, Ji-hyuk, issues an ultimatum: retaliate, even if it means striking Ui-Gyeom with a brick to the head.
After school, they lay in wait for Ui-Gyeom, with Seung-joon cruelly delivering a devastating blow to the back of his head with a wooden stick, leaving Ui-Gyeom's fate hanging in the balance.
Ui-Gyeom frantically implores Yoon-ki not to summon an ambulance, fearing his parents will learn of the altercations. Yet, Yoon-ki is compelled to act when Ui-Gyeom slumps into unconsciousness. His mind races back to a haunting memory—his brother being carted away in a grim, black body bag. Ui-Gyeom awakens in the sterile hospital environment, panicking and eager to escape. But his arrival is met by his anxious parents, who gently coerce him back into bed. Yoon-ki fabricates a tale, claiming Ui-Gyeom tumbled down the stairs en route to the bus stop, leaving his parents visibly concerned. His father stresses the importance of Ui-Gyeom remaining unharmed, not even succumbing to illness.
In the hospital corridors, Ui-Gyeom's mother experiences a harrowing panic attack upon witnessing a stretcher bearing another patient into the emergency room, her mind flashing back to tragic memories of Soo-Kyum. Meanwhile, Seung-joon, worried sick about Ui-Gyeom, rushes to the hospital to check on him. He encounters Ui-Gyeom's mother amidst her distress and offers assistance. Recognizing his school uniform, Da-bin assures him she's alright but notices a wound marring Seung-joon's face. She urges him to apply ointment lest it scars, wondering aloud if boys always find themselves in such predicaments. With a motherly concern, she bids him to take better care of himself, lest she worries unduly. Seung-joon apologizes to Da-bin and departs, heartfelt regret in his eyes.
Post-hospital visit, Yoon-ki seeks out another comatose boy, whispering to him about encountering someone like himself. At home, Ui-Gyeom's mother strives to connect with him, hoping he'll open up about his experiences at his new school. She suggests he stays home and rests the following day, but Ui-Gyeom is adamant about attending school, fearful of falling behind. Da-bin, misunderstanding Ui-Gyeom's resolve as resentment towards her, offers an apology. Ui-Gyeom, however, clarifies that he needs to study and retreats to his room, determination etched across his face.
The following day at school, Ui-Gyeom confronted Seung-joon, requesting him to cease his constant shadowing and assuring him that he had no intentions of pursuing the recent altercation. In response, Seung-joon warned Ui-Gyeom to stay out of his way as well. Nevertheless, Ji-hyuk and his cronies harbored no intentions of sparing Ui-Gyeom. They barged into their classroom during class, demanding that Yoon-ki and Ui-Gyeom meet them atop the school rooftop during lunch.
On the rooftop, Ji-hyuk admonished Ui-Gyeom for his arrogance, asserting that his leniency in the past had only emboldened their behavior. Ui-Gyeom remained defenseless and pleaded with Ji-hyuk to spare Yoon-ki any harm. Ji-hyuk then compelled Ui-Gyeom to apologize to Seung-joon and vow to comply with any of his demands. Meanwhile, Yoon-ki issued a silent warning to Hong-II, urging him to desist from tormenting Ui-Gyeom. Ji-hyuk, pressing further, instructed Seung-joon to strike Ui-Gyeom, but Seung-joon flatly refused. Enraged, Ji-hyuk took matters into his own hands and attacked Ui-Gyeom instead.
Ui-Gyeom's patience reached its breaking point, and he stepped in to defend Seung-joon. Recalling Yoon-ki's talent for recognizing combat prowess, Ui-Gyeom inquired about the number of adversaries remaining after he confronted Ji-hyuk. Yoon-ki estimated two, implying that Ui-Gyeom would emerge victorious with no one left to challenge him once he overcame those two.
