Episode 6 of One Piece season 2 begins with Miss All Sunday in conversation with Wapol, the former and corrupt king of Drum Kingdom. Wapol, who has been financing Baroque Works for some time, is eager to collect what he's owed. With Blackbeard having vacated Drum Island, it's now Wapol's chance to make his move. He's given a gift, a Devil Fruit, and there's no telling what kind of power it may bring. Nevertheless, Wapol greedily consumes it as the Baroque Works group prepares for their next mission.

Onboard the Merry, Nami remains under the weather. She's been in and out of consciousness for four days now, and her arms are covered in nasty black veins. Meanwhile, at the Isle of Renaissance, we catch up with a Marine Communications Outpost where Smoker and Tashigi are on the hunt. They arrive at the outpost, intending to intercept any calls. Smoker tells Tashigi to radio Marine Fort and let them know there's no sign of Baroque Works yet.
But Smoker has had enough and decides to turn his attention to Luffy and the others. They head inside the outpost first, where they find evidence of a skilled swordsman taking out marine members. Smoker assumes it's the Straw Hats and goes alone to confront them. In the depths of the outpost, Smoker finds Miss Thursday, another member of Baroque Works. He takes her down easily.
Tashigi heads in and fights with Mr. 11, recognizing that he too has a skilled blade in the form of Kashu. Tashigi takes him down too, before the pair reconvenes, knowing that Baroque Works were clearly looking for something... but what?
Well, Smoker interrogates Mr. 13 and demands answers. The scene unfolds with tension and anticipation, leaving us eager to see what will happen next in this thrilling adventure.
At Drum Island, Vivi explains that the political landscape between Alabasta and Drum is fraught with tension, but this is their only option to save Nami. They need to find a skilled doctor, but they must also tread carefully. Flashbacks to 10 years ago provide more insight into this hostility. At Pangaea Castle, in the Holy Land of Mary Geoise, a tense round-table discussion revolves around Dragon and his status as the greatest threat to the World Government. In stark contrast to King Cobra of Alabasta, who wishes to do what's right by his people, King Wapol is completely indifferent to the threat and decides to turn a blind eye to the issues affecting the world. When Wapol strikes Vivi outside the palace, it nearly sparks all-out war between the two Kingdoms. Vivi does well to shake off the implications, but in reality, she starts sobbing. Igaram stands up for her and reassures the girl over her tenacity and great virtues.
Back in the present, the group make it to Drum Island but find hostility from the Kingdom residents who refuse to open the door to them. Vivi is the one who talks them around, dropping to her knees and apologizing. Luffy and the others follow suit and it does the trick to gain them entry. Here, they meet with Dalton, captain of the Civilian Guard. He's joined by Maria and other civilians. Dalton explains that Blackbeard has ruined their town, having arrived and had their way with them. Wapol abandoned them upon seeing Blackbeard's power and they've been living in misery ever since.
Dalton continues, pointing out that the only one who can help Nami is the witch Kureha. She's currently in a castle situated at the very peak of Drum Island and the only person who can help them. Luffy is determined to get there before nightfall. Luffy drops off Zoro, Vivi and Usopp at the local tavern and heads up the mountain with Nami. The group make it to the top of the mountain, but they're not alone. The trio are taken into the castle, as Luffy pleads with the creature that takes him inside (Chopper!) to help save his friends.
Nami awakens to find Kureha and Chopper there. It turns out that Nami was actually bitten by a Kestia, a particularly nasty creature that poisons its victims. Luffy and Sanji are here too and both seem to be okay.
