Episode 4 of Season 2 of "Paatal Lok" kicks off with Rose arriving at a dealer's hideout, desperation etched across her face. She attempts to coerce him into giving her drugs despite lacking the necessary payment, but he is instantly thrown off balance by her striking resemblance to his sister. Moved by pity, he reluctantly hands her a small quantity of narcotics. Little do they know, this dealer, along with his accomplices, will meet their untimely demise at the hands of Daniel by the episode's end, as revealed later.
The police are keen to pin the blame for the video and Thom's murder on this trio, but Inspectors Ansari and Chaudhary remain unconvinced. A telltale tattoo on one of the dealers' wrists hints at a possible connection to the local orphanage. Ansari sets off to the orphanage, uncovering that the youths once belonged to Reuben Thom's Nagaland Youth Council in 1997 but eventually left in search of a better life, even contemplating starting a business. Father Zeme, the orphanage's head, expresses doubts about their involvement in the video, insisting that it isn't them. It increasingly appears as though they have been framed.
Meanwhile, Chaudhary embarks on a mission to delve deeper into Raghu's family background, determined to track him down before it's too late. A casual conversation with a distant relative named Manoj at the local market reveals that Rose and Raghu had plans to flee the country and had been seeking an agent's contact to facilitate their crossing.
Upon learning from Ansari that Raghu is linked to the hotel and was a frequent visitor, Chaudhary storms into Reddy's high-profile meeting, compelling Grace to grant the police access to the CCTV footage. Their investigation is gaining traction, especially considering Kapil Reddy's mysterious monthly payment of one thousand lakh to Raghu.
That evening, Ansari and Chaudhary share a meal together, where the latter discovers that Ansari's partner is, in fact, a man. Initially taken aback, Chaudhary quickly recovers, reassuring Ansari that he shouldn't care about others' perceptions. He reveals that he's keeping this aspect of Ansari's personal life a secret from his fellow officers to avoid ridicule.
It serves as a delightful, albeit temporary, respite, drawing the two closer in a fleeting moment of unity before we're once again submerged in the intricacies of the case. Reuben Thom goes around, gathering intelligence from his men that Rose Lizo has gone into hiding, indulging in drugs, no less, in the very vicinity of her home in Nagaland. Soon after, Ansari too receives a phone call, imparting him with the same information. Meanwhile, Chaudhary, engrossed in celebrating his son's 18th birthday, disregards the call, as does Meghna, adding an intriguing twist to the tale. This leaves Ansari solely in possession of this crucial knowledge. However, fate has other plans, as he's not the first to reach her. Reuben and his men storm in, trapping Rose on the balcony, with Ansari hot on their heels. He swiftly scoops her up and they take off, but Thom's men are like a shadow, omnipresent. As Ansari speeds away, a sniper's bullet finds its mark, bringing his escape to an abrupt halt. Rose, in her bid to flee, is also shot, toppling over the edge and disappearing from sight, leaving a poignant tableau of chaos and despair.
