Amidst the mournful atmosphere of the funeral, Maxine frantically searches for a way to salvage Douglas' situation. She turns to Raquel for advice, who suggests either bribing the authorities or making a trade-off. Elsewhere, the reading of Skeet's will reveals a shocking revelation - everything has been transferred to Linda's name, a devastating blow that leaves her devastated.

Robert arrives at the funeral accompanied by the Prince and Princess of Luxembourg. Their relationship, hinted at in the previous episode, seems to have deepened, as they plot a romantic escape to France. Meanwhile, Maxine escorts Norma to the washroom, unaware of the gun hidden in her purse. Norma's intentions are unclear, but the tense atmosphere is shattered when they stumble upon Robert and the Prince in a compromising position. Robert quickly spirits Norma away, buying Maxine a precious moment of respite.

Mary's relentless pursuit of payment for the fibrosis auction continues, this time resorting to emotional blackmail. Maxine manages to stall her once again, but a new crisis looms when she discovers that the cashier's checks bear her signature, not Douglas's. This revelation could lead to her arrest for fraud instead of him.

In a private moment with Douglas, Maxine confides in him about the dire situation. He assures her that he won't let her take the blame. Suddenly, the tense atmosphere is shattered by the news that Sylvia has gone into labor. The baby is delivered in Linda's bathtub, and the choice of the name Jack brings back bittersweet memories for Maxine and Douglas. It was the name they had intended to give their own child, a child that Maxine lost just before their wedding. She reveals this heartbreaking secret to Douglas, keeping it from him all this time to spare his feelings. The revelation leaves Douglas deeply shaken, and he withdraws from her.

Just when it seems like there's no escape from the mounting troubles, Maxine learns that Douglas has taken the blame for her and is being arrested by the police. Determined to save him, she rushes to the bank to cash the donation checks for the beach ball auction. But her task is complicated when the cashier demands her husband's signature as well. Desperate and running out of options, Maxine spots the wanted poster of the prince and remembers Raquel's words.

In a desperate gamble, Maxine agrees to inform the police about the prince's whereabouts if they agree to drop the charges against Douglas and return the seized assets. Her gamble pays off, and Douglas is freed from custody. But the price of her victory is high - Robert's heart is broken as the prince fails to show up to take him away to France. The episode ends on a note of uncertainty and suspense, leaving the fate of these characters hanging in the balance.
