The seventh episode of Paradise Season 2 begins with a flashback to six years ago, where Anders demonstrates to Sinatra and Cal the bunker's functionality, taking them through the tank room filled with oxygen tanks and the location of the four nuclear reactors. Cal expresses his hope that they never have to use the bunker, but Sinatra reassures him that it's their future.

In the present, Xavier finds himself in a predicament after Gary manipulates him into taking a bomb into a group heading to Colorado. Fortunately, Teri is with them! She asks everyone to put their guns down and reveals to Xavier that she knows Gary killed Ennis. While the group's leader speaks to Xavier, Teri discovers a message from Gary stating that he has Bean.
In the bunker, Sinatra prepares to meet with the outsiders. Her husband, Tim, suggests she wear a suit, and they discuss how their relationship has changed since Dylan's death. Sinatra comments that he seems to have healed, while she hasn't. Meanwhile, Gabriela becomes paranoid about Jane attacking her, while Hadley calls Presley over to break into her mom's laptop and find out where the prisoners are. Underground, Jeremy is forced to let Nicole join him on his mission with Anders.
At a council meeting, the leaders decide to let Sinatra meet the outsiders with five guards. Gabriela suggests not using Jane, as it would affect the optics, and Sinatra agrees, much to Jane's annoyance.
Outside, Xavier and Teri finally have a proper reunion. She shows him the note from Gary and says that she wants to save Bean, since he is now her family. In the bunker, Gabriela tries to dissuade Sinatra from relying on Jane, but Sinatra says she is working on something that needs sacrifice. When Gabriela brings up Alex, Sinatra warns her not to probe further. We then see that Jane is keeping track of Gabriela's location.
At Sinatra's house, Hadley hacks into her mother's laptop, revealing that she always uses her brother's birth date as the password—May 16th. She then grants her and Presley's wristbands access to the lower level of the bunker.
Down below, Jeremy and Nicole's heads butt heads with each other. When Xavier and Teri reach Gary's place, she insists on going inside and bringing Bean out on her own. Xavier keeps his sniper gun trained on Gary. Inside, she reunites with Bean and sends him out to the greenhouse so she can talk to Gary. Gary says he won't be able to live without her, becoming increasingly flustered by the minute.
Meanwhile, Sinatra and her guards head to the bunker doors, where they meet Link and his five men. After some chit-chat, they cut to the chase and Link says his team wants a nuclear reactor so they can restart the world. Sinatra asks what he really wants since he wouldn't give up a nuclear reactor. Link says he wants Alex. Sinatra says she doesn't know what he's talking about.
Underground, Anders takes Nicole and Jeremy to the control room and tells them that once the system registers that there is not enough oxygen in the bunker, the doors will open on their own. Back outside, Teri tries to tell Gary that their years together are over. He says he's drowning and begs her to let Xavier take him out. But she hugs him and tells him that he will learn to swim again. He finally lets her go. With Bean in tow, Xavier and Teri head to get Annie's baby from her friends.
At the bunker doors, Sinatra shows Link and his people out, saying they're at an impasse and telling him to move on. He retorts that they will be coming inside and vows to destroy everything she's built. During this conversation, a colleague calls out to Link by his real name—Dylan! Sinatra is shaken since her son would have also been 26 that day, the same age as Link. She asks him when his birthday is and he says May 16th. Could he really be her son? There seems to be something to it since both Dylan and Sinatra get nosebleeds once he walks away. Sinatra goes home and for the first time in a long time, embraces her husband.
The narrative then shifts gears, returning to the flashback where Anders reveals the control room to Sinatra and Cal. This room houses a nerve center—a highly automated system that responds to various situations: it sprays water in case of a fire, opens doors in case of air deficiency, and initiates lockdown in the event of a nuclear attack. Cal ponders the what-ifs of a simultaneous occurrence, but Anders dismisses it as an infinitesimally small possibility. Sinatra expresses confidence in the bunker's safety, yet Cal points out the inevitability of the downfall of past empires. As he speaks, glimpses from the other storylines are shown.
As Link and his army prepare for invasion, the council of leaders, unable to reach Sinatra, initiates full lockdown. Simultaneously, Anders, Jeremy, and Nicole rush to the oxygen tanks to force open the bunker doors. The collision of these two commands causes the system to malfunction, signaling a potential meltdown. At this crucial moment, the lift carrying Presley and Hadley abruptly halts.
In the midst of this chaos, Jane attacks Gabriela in her home. However, Gabriel outwits her and stabs her in the back. Meanwhile, Xavier and Teri are on a train with Bean and Annie's infant. Xavier once again glimpses a place with steel walls, triggering a nosebleed immediately afterward.
Where is Sinatra during all this turmoil? She ventures deeper into the bunker's secret passages and enters a chamber where she greets Alex.
