Both harbor ambitions of becoming partners, and the competition between them is palpable.
The crux of the story revolves around Sun Corp, a high-stakes, confidential case. Ingrid finds herself playing a supporting role to Dan Fallon, a privileged lawyer with influential connections. This arrangement irks her, especially when he dismissively refers to her as a mere paralegal. However, when Ted Lassiter, the CEO of Sun Corp, arrives, Ingrid showcases her sharp intellect, leaving a lasting impression. In contrast, Dan attempts to charm with small talk about football after the meeting.
Despite her dedication to her career, Ingrid lives alone and finds her personal life complicated by issues with her sister Lina and mother. When Lina goes missing for three days, Ingrid rushes out in the middle of a busy workday to search for her, missing a crucial encounter with Ted Lassiter. Displeased, Ingrid learns that Dan has spoken to Ted, but she remains in the dark about the details.
Regrettably, Ingrid has to cancel her date with Nick, a promising connection she had earlier in the episode. Instead, she scrambles to catch up on work. Unfortunately, Dan steals Ingrid's idea and pitches it to Ted Lassiter, pushing her aside. Later, at a party, Ingrid arrives, expecting to spend time with Nick. However, Jeff Murphy is also there, and the tension between the two men is palpable.
