The crux of the story revolves around Sun Corp, a high-stakes, confidential case. Ingrid finds herself playing a supporting role to Dan Fallon, a privileged lawyer with influential connections. This arrangement irks her, especially when he dismissively refers to her as a mere paralegal. However, when Ted Lassiter, the CEO of Sun Corp, arrives, Ingrid showcases her sharp intellect, leaving a lasting impression. In contrast, Dan attempts to charm with small talk about football after the meeting.

Despite her dedication to her career, Ingrid lives alone and finds her personal life complicated by issues with her sister Lina and mother. When Lina goes missing for three days, Ingrid rushes out in the middle of a busy workday to search for her, missing a crucial encounter with Ted Lassiter. Displeased, Ingrid learns that Dan has spoken to Ted, but she remains in the dark about the details.

Regrettably, Ingrid has to cancel her date with Nick, a promising connection she had earlier in the episode. Instead, she scrambles to catch up on work. Unfortunately, Dan steals Ingrid's idea and pitches it to Ted Lassiter, pushing her aside. This angers Ingrid, who resents Dan's privileged connections, especially his friend from the Department of Energy.

Later, at a party, Ingrid arrives, expecting to spend time with Nick. However, Jeff Murphy is also there, and the tension between the two men is palpable. To make matters worse, Ingrid encounters Dan's Department of Energy friend, who drunkenly reveals sensitive details about the Sun Corp case. This revelation spurs Ingrid into action. She decides to leak the deal price to the press, intent on exposing Dan and "protecting the firm." With Marty's help, she devises a plan and works tirelessly for less than 60 hours before the article is leaked. Her efforts pay off, and Sun Corp strikes a deal with Min Enterprises. Dan arrives just after, and Ingrid smugly reveals that she is now playing by his rules.
