Published: Jul 16 2024

Episode 5 of Partner Track kicks off with Nick's tender breakfast preparations for Ingrid, yet his efforts fall short of her expectations. Guilt over her deception with Z and her lingering affection for Jeff weigh heavily on her heart. Their cozy moment is abruptly shattered by Lina's arrival, who promptly indulges in the food without hesitation. The awkwardness mounts as Nick affectionately calls Ingrid a "cuddly bunny," leaving an awkward silence in the air.

As the firm's annual Spring Break retreat commences, everyone embarks on the coach to the luxurious resort. The serene hotel serves as a backdrop for Dan's apparent shift in perspective, following Tyler's racial discourse. Ingrid, however, is swiftly immersed in her work again, faced with the daunting task of reviewing hundreds of pages of disclosure schedules for the Sun Corp acquisition by Monday morning. Jeff, initially uninterested in work, is dragged away from the golf course by Ingrid.

Partner Track – Season 1 Episode 5 1

The pair discovers that Min Enterprises has holdings in Syria and Iran, locations that coincide suspiciously with refugee camps. This revelation presents a moral quandary: either terminate the deal to save the refugees or proceed, potentially leaving them at risk. Together, they devise a plan: The Delaware Division Law. This strategy involves spinning off the holdings in Syria and Iran into a new nonprofit corporation, the Min Foundation, exempt from sanctions, thus allowing the deal to proceed. As the plan takes shape, Ingrid betrays Nick with a kiss on Jeff's lips.

At dinner, the awkwardness intensifies as Ingrid and Jeff sit together, while Rachel and Justin are stranded on a lake, spending quality time together. The chemistry between them has been simmering throughout the season, and as they get to know each other, their bond deepens. Sparks fly as they eventually share a kiss, and much more.

Back at the hotel, Dan takes the stage for his stand-up routine, boldly addressing Tyler for helping him understand "white fragility." This bold move angers Tyler, who spends the rest of the evening in a rage, ultimately leaving mid-event to return home. Ingrid confronts Marty, demanding accountability for Dan's actions. Marty agrees, promising to address the matter with Dan on Monday.
