Phantom Lawyer – K-drama Episode 3 1

Meanwhile, I-rang pays a visit to Taebaek to express his gratitude towards Na-hyun for her decision to lose the case. He understands that she could have destroyed the hard drive, yet chose not to, ultimately helping him save Ji-woo. Bong-soo, overhearing this from his mother-in-law, shares I-rang's strange behavior with his own wife. In the midst of this, Bong-soo is at his office making a contract with a new ghost – a high schooler who has no memory of herself.

As they argue over the contract's clauses, a surprising turn of events occurs: the priest arrives, and they discuss how to help the ghost recover her memories. Soon after, Bong-soo's phone rings, playing "Love Dive" by IVE, and to his surprise, I-rang possesses him, demonstrating impressive dance moves that leave both Bong-soo and a potential client amazed and slightly terrified.

To gain insight into her identity, I-rang draws a self-portrait by tracing her face on paper. Seeing the masterpiece that I-rang creates, Bong-soo, who struggled in art class, is convinced of his brother-in-law's ability to communicate with ghosts. The episode ends with a sense of uncertainty and anticipation, as the characters struggle to unravel the mystery surrounding I-rang and her connection to the ghosts.

Elsewhere, Na-hyun drops by Ji-woo's school and watches her from afar, her heart filled with joy as she sees Ji-woo singing and laughing with her friends. The memories of Su-a's past, of her singing in class with her guitar, come flooding back, and the sounds intensify, causing Na-hyun to put on her earphones to drown out the memories.

On the other hand, Bong-soo prays earnestly in church for I-rang, as his mother-in-law, Park Kyung-hwa, begs him to take care of her and update her on what happens from time to time. He is to keep it a secret that she knows about it.

Meanwhile, I-rang tries to find out more information about the ghost by visiting dance schools and Idol training centers. One street dance venue excites the ghost, and she happily joins the crew and dances to Hype Boy by New Jeans. Later, she becomes very sad after realizing that she is now dead and that finding out her identity will not help bring her back. To cheer her up, I-rang makes Ttebbeoki, only to be instantly possessed. Her mother and brother-in-law instantly realize it and help her sit at the table and enjoy the food.

Later that night, Da-bong sees the ghost on TV during a rerun of a show called Tomorrow Idol. He finds out her stage name is Loanne and that she is 19 years old. Still, this cannot help her remember, so they need to find out her real name.

At Taebaek, Na-hyun is assigned to handle a new client, Glory Entertainment - the same company where Loanne was a trainee. At the same time, I-rang finds a way to get into the company and sneaks in to talk to the trainees. Through Emma, another trainee, he learns that Loanne, real name Kim Su-a, was a talented trainee but tough on others. The story at the company is that she was let go and committed suicide.

After I-rang says her name and date of birth, she regains her memory, and her story is nothing short of inspiring. She was abandoned by her mother when she was little and taken in by her grandmother, who worked at a diner to raise her. Su-a started working part-time as soon as she was legally able to help her grandmother. She loved to dance, and that is how she was chosen to join Glory Entertainment.

The story of Su-a's resilience and determination to pursue her dreams despite the odds against her is a testament to the power of perseverance and the importance of never giving up on one's dreams.

Her training group consisted of three other girls, and she treated them harshly, knowing that her future depended on her debut. The other trainees resented her for this, and they pressured the CEO to dismiss her by threatening to quit. The day she was let go, she was heartbroken and went to the rooftop. There, she received a call from her mother, and they planned to meet. Su-a recalled feeling a push, but she couldn't see who it was because it was dark, nor could she remember the ringtone she heard.

Meanwhile, Hyun begins investigating Su-a's suicide case since the CEO wants to sue the fans, accusing his company of covering up Su-a's death as a suicide. The primary lead is her phone, which was nowhere to be found near her body or on the roof. She had posted a story online just minutes before her death, so her phone should have been with her.

Na-hyun suspects foul play and enlists prosecutor Kim Hyun-woo's help. She asks him to investigate the employees to see if anyone has been linked to any criminal activities. The investigations flag songwriter Ko Jong-seok as a person of interest. He's frequently sued for plagiarism and copyright infringement, and each time he countersues and wins. Na-hyun wonders if he's just that good... or if he's hiding something.

At the same time, I-rang sneaks back into the company. It turns out that Su-a had a crush on Jong-seok, so she possesses I-rang when he gets close to him. Jong-seok calls security on him and rushes out when he gets a call. Su-a, still possessing I-rang, runs after him. Coincidentally, Na-hyun arrives at the company looking for Jong-seok and follows him as well.

At the end of the episode, Na-hyun saves I-rang from being run over by a bus, and it's revealed that her friend So-hyun died after saving her in the same way too.
