The seventh episode of Pro Bono opens with Da-wit weaving a web of lies to ensnare the team and lead Gi-ppeum away. Meanwhile, Dr. Oh looms over the scene, threatening to replace Jung-in with his own offspring and proclaiming that he is unconcerned with image rejuvenation. Profit, he insists, is his sole focus, and the Pro Bono team is failing to deliver it. Thus, he declares the team's disbandment as a necessity.

Pro Bono – K-drama Episode 7 1

Returning to Da-wit and Gi-ppeum, she explains that in the bribery video, he appears to be under the influence of drugs. While he remains arrogant and controlled when intoxicated, under anesthesia, during medical check-ups, he becomes emotional and unguarded. In the video, he is seen smiling widely and embracing Jae-beom. Da-wit is touched when she adds that he is no longer alone and she will help him.

His joy erupts upon learning of the team's disbandment. He storms into Dr. Oh's office, followed closely by Jung-in. Dr. Oh's ruthlessness meets Da-wit's defiance in a bold bet: He will steal the wealthy chaebol clients from their rival firm, Baekseung Law Firm. If he fails, he will depart quietly; if he succeeds, the Pro Bono team will be allowed to stay or he will sue Dr. Oh for wrongful termination.

Back at the office, the Pro Bono team teases Yeong-sil about his new client, Song Ji-hye, who admires him despite having a grade 3 intellectual disability and a history of abuse. The switch to Da-wit's challenge of defending wealthy chaebols leaves them reeling, but their agreement turns swift when the client turns out to be EK Entertainment's K-pop idol, Eliyah. The team is in a tizzy, screaming and fawning over her. CEO Cha Jin-hui, who also happens to be Eliyah's mother, looks down on them for their lack of sophistication.

However, she consents to humor them. There exists a video recording of Eliyah's aggressive and rude behavior towards three schoolgirls who showed up in the middle of the night at her boyfriend's place. The girls' parents demand payment for their silence. On top of that, Cyber Crusader, a gossip YouTube channel, is relentlessly harassing Eliyah.

During the Pro Bono team's dinner, the younger members wallow in despair as the introductory meeting was a disaster. Jun-u, the ever-optimistic one, loses faith and reproaches Da-wit for not taking the team seriously. Frustrated, Da-wit eventually reveals the bribery accusations, shocking the team but ultimately leading to a heart-to-heart conversation. Nan-hui agrees that one is always innocent until proven guilty, while Yeong-sil points out that Da-wit's good deeds speak for themselves. They lighten the mood with a joke about him only accepting bribes in controlled environments.

Returning to the case, Jung-in demands the team's success and gives them a makeover to meet Jin-hui's standards. Next is a pitch meeting between Oh & Partner and Baekseung Law Firm. And as luck would have it, Myeong-hun is the lead attorney from Baekseung.

His team treats Eliyah like a puppet, telling her to settle, ordering her to cry, and suggesting a hospital visit to pacify the parents. Nan-hui is enraged and calls them out. Through their investigation, the Pro Bono team has discovered that the girls constantly bullied and beat up Eliyah's stylist and best friend. They also had their driver record the video, which has been sold to Cyber Crusader. The video has already gone public, rendering Myeong-hun's strategy a failure.

Eliyah's thoughts suddenly flashed back to Nan-hui, a die-hard fan who attended the meet and greet event. As her turn arrived, Nan-hui revealed that Eliyah was her inspiration. Despite being bullied, she harbored a dream of becoming a pro bono attorney to create a safe space for others. Eliyah was touched, and in the present moment, she hugged Nan-hui, who then convinced EK Entertainment to choose the Pro Bono team to represent her.

First, they sued Cyber Crusade, also known as Ma Yeong-suk. Her defense was Jin-hwan, a man who looked exactly like Reporter Kim. They argued that Eliyah, being a public and influential figure, had a responsibility to her fans and that the public was outraged by her behavior. Yeong-suk claimed that she had a duty to disseminate truth and that suing her was a form of censorship of free press.

Da-wit and Gi-ppeum countered that Eliyah was first and foremost a human with a right to privacy. They revealed that the majority of the negative comments were from fake accounts created by Yeong-suk. Nan-hui stated that cruelty should not be the price of popularity, bringing up idols who had committed suicide due to cyberbullying.

Eliyah appeared and apologized for her outburst, promising to compensate the students. However, she called out Yeong-suk for hurting her fans who believed in her.

As the hearing ended, Jin-hwan told Da-wit to drop the case. It turned out that Jin-hui had tipped them off about Eliyah's boyfriend, even sharing photos of the two together. Da-wit was shocked as Jin-hui arrived, gushing over her daughter's successful trial.

In the epilogue, we see Da-wit high from the anesthesia, upset that Gi-ppeum hadn't trusted him. He mumbled how she had hurt his feelings, looking fondly at her as he did so.
