Rivers of Fate – Season 1 Episode 3 1

As dawn breaks the next day, Amandeu imparts the heart-wrenching news of Pedro's demise to Lizete. She puts on a brave facade in his presence, but her walls crumble the moment she is alone, her sorrow spilling over in an uncontainable flood. Meanwhile, Gigante strolls into a strip club to visit his mistress, where he receives the shocking revelation that Tabaco has met his end and Preá suspects him of the crime. With a promise to return triumphant after vanquishing Preá, Gigante reassures his lover of his impending return.

Preá, now adopting the moniker Jonas, finds his thoughts straying from his late father to Janalice. He declares his intentions to marry her to Player, amidst their ongoing enterprises of theft and illicit smuggling. However, their operations are abruptly disrupted by a fierce attack orchestrated by Gigante and his cohorts.

Dressed in disguise as a man, Mariangel embarks on a perilous journey to Tucuruí in pursuit of Gigante, accompanied by Zé Do Boi. In this foreign territory, Zé Do Boi uncovers information about Gigante's sweetheart, Tereza, and sets out to locate her abode with the aid of a friend. Stakeout ensues outside her residence, but when Gigante remains elusive, they resort to desperate measures. Threatening Tereza and using her phone to lure Gigante into the open, they uncover his hiding place in Breves. In a harrowing twist, Tereza, attempting to wrestle free, accidentally plunges from her seat to her tragic end. The sight plunges Mariangel into a tailspin of trauma, evoking harrowing memories of death she witnessed during her military service.

Elsewhere, Amandeu, with Miltinho's assistance, tracks down Dionete's beau, Mariozinho. Amidst threats of lethal consequences, Mariozinho's phone rings, revealing Etelvina as his mother on the other end. Amandeu's ears catch Janalice's voice in the background, piecing together the puzzle that his goddaughter is in the vicinity of Etelvina.

During the phone conversation, Etelvina imparted to Mariozinho that Zé Elídio was en route to a grand gala accompanied by the Mayor. Intrigued, Amandeu made up his mind to attend this affair, bringing along Milthinho as his companion. Meanwhile, Phillipe, a Colombian national, arrived at Zé Elídio’s residence on a mission bestowed by his boss, the Ambassador – to seek out five fair-complexioned ladies. He subsequently escorted these young women to Breves for the festivities.

At the party, Zé Elídio coerced Janalice and four other girls, Luzia among them, to imbibe alcohol. Janalice, slyly sipping from Luzia’s glass, urged her to stay vigilant and rescue them should they lose consciousness. Elsewhere, Mariangel and Zé Do Boi managed to slip unnoticed into the soiree. Mariangel caught sight of Player and suspected Jonas to be lurking somewhere nearby. She also encountered Gigante, but soon a brawl erupted between Gigante and Jonas, which the Mayor, Mr. Brazão, quelled by compelling them to apologize to each other.

Zé Elídio then paraded Janalice, Luzia, and the other girls on stage, clad in bikinis, as a birthday gift for Brazão. Janalice, whose drink had been secretly spiked, was too intoxicated to walk. She became the focal point as she stumbled towards the stage, drawing the attention of Jonas and Gigante. Recognizing Janalice from his conversation with Amandeu, Mariangel watched in concern. Jonas leapt onto the stage, determined to purchase Janalice at any cost. In honor of his old friend Tabaco, Brazão granted Jonas the first opportunity to be with Janalice. However, he privately revealed to Gigante his intention to have Jonas executed afterwards, much to Gigante’s delight. Empowered by this revelation, Gigante sought to enlist Player’s aid in betraying Jonas. Unfortunately for him, Zé Do Boi located Player and ended his life.

Concurrently, Luzia and the other girls were openly auctioned off at the party. That night, Jonas attempted to acquire Janalice from Brazão, but Phillipe stepped in to intervene. Brazão had Jonas removed while he escorted Janalice to a private room. Meanwhile, Amandeu and Milthinho managed to infiltrate the party, only to find that all the girls except Luzia had been returned to Zé Elídio. To Milthinho’s astonishment, he spotted his sister Luzia being roughly handled by one of the men, and he rushed to her side without hesitation.

The narrative shifts to the morning after the turbulent events, where Amanda subjects Brazão to a rigorous interrogation. The mayor, seeking to distance himself from the unfolding scandal, hastily implicates Zé Elídio, accusing him of attempting to orchestrate a clandestine women trafficking operation at his party, all without his consent. Suddenly, one of Brazão's henchmen viciously places a plastic bag over Amanda's head, asphyxiating him until his life extinguishes.

Elsewhere, Philippe stealthily spirits Janalice and the other girls away from the treacherous scene. Jonas, desperate to locate and warn Player, frantically attempts to reach him while simultaneously stealing a bicycle to pursue Philippe and rescue Janalice. Not far behind, Mariangel and Zé Do Boi trail Jonas, their intentions unclear yet menacing. Meanwhile, Gigante shadows Jonas's every move, adding another layer of complexity to the chase.

Inside the speeding vehicle, Janalice and her compatriots launch a surprise attack on Philippe and the driver, causing the car to swerve wildly and plunge into the lake, the waters closing over it with a sinister thud. As the episode draws to a cliffhanger, Jonas, undeterred and relentless, continues his pursuit of Janalice's sinking vehicle, the tension thick with anticipation.
