When they finally corner him, Edoardo confesses that he was not only a friend of Sergio but also his ally in exposing Tarallo's kickback scheme, which fueled unauthorized projects. After Edoardo slips away, Sara confronts Pardo, sensing that he's withholding crucial information. She insists that he keep a vigilant watch on Edoardo, around the clock.

Later, Sara fills Teresa in on Edoardo's connection to Sergio, suggesting that Sergio deceived everyone, including Teresa, about his true intentions. She urges Teresa to delve deeper and uncover the puppet master orchestrating Tarallo's actions.

At her residence, Sara is surprised to find Capatano awaiting her arrival. She cordially invites him in, where he presents her with a CD left behind by Massimiliano, intended for Sara in the eventuality of his demise. Capatano confesses that his hesitation stemmed from jealousy; he had procrastinated in confessing his feelings for fear of rejection, until it was too late—when he was finally ready, Sara had entered Massimiliano's life, capturing his heart.

Sara endeavors to immerse herself in the CD's melodies, but the moment Massimiliano's voice echoes through the speakers, she is engulfed by an overwhelming wave of emotions. Meanwhile, Pardo keeps a vigilant eye on Edoardo's abode, capturing on video a mysterious encounter between Edoardo and an unknown figure. Thrilled at the prospect of unveiling secrets, he eagerly presents the footage to Sara. However, upon scrutinizing the clip, Sara swiftly deduces that the individual in question is merely a moped mechanic, rendering Pardo's effort somewhat futile.

Taking over the surveillance duties, Sara sharpens her focus and catches sight of Edoardo in conversation with a man who whispers about a plot unfolding at the Galleria Principe di Napoli. Elsewhere, Lembo storms into the secret agent offices, informing Teresa with gravity that their operations are facing closure due to severe budget constraints.

Later, at the opulent Galleria, Sara and Pardo intervene to apprehend an immigrant who, along with an accomplice, attempts to snatch a woman's purse. While one perpetrator is apprehended, the other escapes in a sleek luxury vehicle. Questioning Edoardo subsequently reveals that he is penning an exposé on Tarallo, who orchestrates crimes and frames immigrants, thus perpetuating his divisive narrative that immigrants pose a danger. United in their resolve, Sara and Pardo decide to eavesdrop on Tarallo's vehicle. This mission necessitates the expertise of the secret agency, but with their headquarters defunct, Teresa leads the team to establish a temporary base at Pardo's residence.

Concurrently, Edoardo's informant alerts him to another impending incident, promising to forward details once he obtains them. The stakes are rising, and with each revelation, the intricate web of deceit begins to unravel, drawing Sara and Pardo closer to the heart of the conspiracy.

The team has meticulously prepared for the eavesdropping operation. Along the journey, Sara happens to encounter Viola, from whom she collects the promised photograph of Giorgio. Noticing Sara's urgency, Viola inquires about her haste. Sara unburdens herself about the mission, and Viola, compassionate and ready to lend a hand, offers her assistance without hesitation.

Their paths converge at the hotel where Tarallo is enjoying a meal with his strategist. Taking advantage of the moment, Viola engages Tarallo's driver in conversation, cleverly diverting his attention while Pardo stealthily plants the listening device in the vehicle. Simultaneously, Sara employs her lip-reading skills to eavesdrop on the conversation between Tarallo and his guest. They are engrossed in a debate about energy investments, pondering whether nuclear power holds more promise than renewable energy sources. Tarallo stands firm on atomic power, citing a promise he made to the people. As Tarallo concludes his meal and returns to his car, Viola discreetly excuses herself.

Later in the night, Edoardo receives a crucial tip from his informant, directing him to an abandoned building. He hastily dials Pardo's number, but the loud music blaring in Pardo's car obscures the ringing tone. Undeterred, Edoardo ventures into the eerie, forsaken structure alone.

Inside, he is confronted by two armed men – the same father and son duo who were behind the kidnapping and murder of Sergio and Russo. In a swift altercation, Edoardo manages to incapacitate one while the other fires a shot, wounding him. Desperate and injured, Edoardo flees down a dimly lit staircase, with the father hot on his trail. The episode concludes with a tense gunshot echoing through the abandoned building, leaving the fate of Edoardo hanging in the balance.
