Secrets We Keep – Season 1 Episode 5 1

Viggo, hiding discreetly, eavesdrops as Katarina pleads with Cecilie for help in identifying Ruby's body. Her distress is palpable; she insists she's never witnessed a deceased person and doesn't want to now. With Rasmus out of town, Katarina has no one else to turn to but Cecilie. Reluctantly, Cecilie agrees to confront the police and make the identification.

As Cecilie prepares to leave, Viggo intercepts her, longing for a word, but she's too preoccupied to oblige, promising to chat when she returns from the morgue.

Upon arriving at the morgue, Cecilie positively identifies Ruby's remains. However, she reverses her earlier statement, informing Achia that she has no clue about Mike's whereabouts that fateful night. She had taken a sleeping pill and slept through his return.

Achia's repeated calls to Mike go unanswered, only reaching his voicemail. Upon her return home, Cecilie breaks the heart-wrenching news of Ruby's demise to Angel, who is devastated and reaches out to their friends.

The revelation of Ruby's death becomes a sensational crime story, given her employers' identity as Rasmus and Katarina. Amidst the turmoil, Cecilie inadvertently forgets to pick up Viggo from school.

Viggo calls his father, who swiftly fetches him and drops him off at their house. Cecilie confronts Mike once more, demanding to know if he's withholding anything. The harrowing sight of Ruby's bloated body has left her unnerved and determined to uncover the truth.

As Viggo listens intently, the cacophony of his parents' dispute fills the air. Mike steadfastly maintains his innocence, insisting that he is not the father of Ruby's child. However, Cecilie, unconvinced by his assertions, summarily dismisses him. Later that night, Katarina pays a visit to Cecilie, her purpose twofold: to apologize and to check on her wellbeing. She offers Cecilie a tranquilizing pill, reassuring her that Mike is, indeed, innocent.

Cecilie, deeply impacted by Ruby's untimely demise, struggles to come to terms with her grief. Katarina, sensing her fragility, urges her to stay strong for the sake of their children. Meanwhile, on the opposite end of the house, Viggo attempts to engage Angel in conversation, only to be brushed aside. She is engrossed in planning Ruby's memorial service, her mind focused intently on the upcoming tasks ahead.

The following day, Aicha ambushes Mike in his office, demanding an audience. Mike, in an effort to clear his name, volunteers to show her the CCTV footage from his office. Aicha, however, isn't satisfied and insists on a DNA sample as definitive proof of his innocence.

Back at home, Angel receives yet another plea for money from her sister. Frustration boils over, and she snaps at her before quickly apologizing for her harsh words.

As the day draws to a close, Mike pays a visit to Cecilie, presenting her with the results of his DNA test. To everyone's relief, the results confirm that Mike is not the father of Ruby's child. Yet, Mike can't contain his anger towards Cecilie for doubting him and lashes out. Cecilie, undeterred, stands her ground, accusing him of playing the victim.

At school, Viggo defies the teacher's instructions to put away his phone. The teacher, catching a glimpse of the screen, notices that Viggo is watching one of the clandestine videos that have been circulating among the boys. Concerned, the teacher promptly summons Cecilie to the school and shows her the distressing footage.

The teacher, mistaking the video for one featuring Angel, discovered it was actually a footage of Ruby, secretly captured in her bedroom as she dressed post-shower. As the teacher unveiled more details about the video's origins, he summoned the other parents to a collective meeting, stirring up tension.

In the interim, Ruby's autopsy report left the door open for both homicide and suicide as possible causes of her demise. Carl leaned towards the theory of suicide and urged Aicha to let it rest, but Aicha was relentless in her pursuit of truth. She made an unannounced visit to Rasmus's abode, informing him of the impending release of Ruby's body. Ruby's family wished to lay her to rest in the Philippines, and Rasmus, moved by their plight, volunteered to assist. He pleaded with Aicha to address the media and vindicate him, but she stood firm in her refusal. In a bid to clear his name, Rasmus proposed undergoing a DNA test.

Back at school, the gathering of parents concerning the four children entangled in the video scandal commenced. Katarina dismissed the gravity of the situation until Oscar was pinpointed as the primary perpetrator. The parents, unified in their demand for Oscar's expulsion, provoked Katarina into a furious outburst. She lambasted the other parents and, in a fit of rage, punched the teacher as she stormed out of the room.

After the conclusion of the meeting, Katarina attempts to engage Cecilie in conversation at the parking lot. Cecilie confronts her bluntly about her conduct and demands an end to their sons' camaraderie. As the conversation unfolds, the scene transitions to the backyard where Oscar is in hot pursuit of Viggo. In a sudden burst of aggression, Oscar tackles Viggo to the ground, choking him and issuing grim warnings of dire consequences should he utter a word about a certain video.

Katarina arrives promptly on the scene and rushes to Oscar's side. Meanwhile, Cecilie discovers Viggo in the backyard, his eyes wide with fear. She endeavors to soothe him and draw him out, prompting Viggo to reveal the existence of the video Oscar had shown him, along with the menacing threats he had issued. However, he remains resolute in his refusal to discuss the video's contents.

Later that evening, Cecilie snuggles Oscar into a peaceful slumber. Once he drifts off, she ventures into the living room, only to be startled by the sudden shattering of a window as an unseen assailant hurls a stone through it.
