Episode 4 of Slow Horses kicks off with a daring move by Lamb, as he gathers the team's phones and discards them into the sewers, symbolizing their transformation into shadows. Their mission now necessitates anonymity, leading them to a cryptic set of coordinates deep within the heart of Brixton. Louise, ever the detective, deduces their ultimate destination: Blake's grave, and they embark on a stealthy journey, narrowly evading Diana and her MI5 entourage.

Slow Horses – Season 1 Episode 4 1

The question lingering in the air—why did Curly strike down Zeppo?—finds its answer in a fateful conversation with Peter Simmonds, who, alerted by Hobden's menacing visit in the previous episode, whispered the truth into Curly's ear. Hassan, though still breathing, finds himself at the mercy of a chaotic operation spiraling wildly out of control.

Diana, her voice echoing through her network of operatives, receives grim news: her man lies dead, and the Slow Horses' shadows precede hers. As an agent of the First Lady, Ingrid, she issues a stern directive: clean up this mess, starting with clearing the streets and bringing the Slow Horses to heel.

Louise, Min, and Cartwright find themselves at a pivotal juncture, both metaphorically and physically, as they navigate a crossroads. Behind the wheel, they grapple with the moral dilemma of surrender or adhering to Lamb's perilous plan. Meanwhile, Diana's MI5 web tightens, tracking 35 potential vehicles harboring Hassan, while the Son of Albion grapples with their hostage crisis and the impending storm of consequences.

A dangerous game of cat and mouse ensues, with our band of misfits split into pairs, scattered across London's labyrinthine streets, each a step ahead of the relentless MI5 pursuit. River Cartwright's path intersects with Roddy, who delves into the enigmatic life of Alan Black, the fallen undercover agent. But Cartwright's journey takes an unexpected turn as he veers towards the hospital, driven by a need to ensure Sid's wellbeing. There, amidst the chaos of her fragile state, Cartwright's relief turns to panic as he flees through the hospital's labyrinthine corridors, the MI5's relentless pursuit hot on his heels.

Meanwhile, Lamb sought refuge within Catherine's sanctuary, only to encounter an unwelcome surprise as Diana's henchmen, led by the imposing Nick, materialized outside as they made their exit. As they forcibly escorted Lamb into their vehicle and set off, Catherine, swift as lightning, produced a firearm, her action aided by Lamb's clever ploy of sneezing and requesting a tissue from his companion, momentarily disorienting the assailants.

With the menacing thugs vanquished and Cartwright still eluding capture, the narrative hangs precariously in balance. The Sons of Albion, too, remain in a state of deliberation, their course of action regarding Hassan uncertain and uncertainly suspended, leaving the stage wide open for a gripping cliffhanger in the subsequent episode.
