Episode 6 of Season 3 of "Squid Game" kicks off with Jun-ho heroically rescuing Player 246. Guided by 246, they make their way towards the island. After summoning the coast guard, Jun-ho valiantly swims towards the island solo, while a mercenary tends to 246's wound. The coast guard soon arrives, alerting the Squid Game staff to their presence.
As the game concludes, the Frontman initiates the evacuation process. To eradicate all traces of their activities, he activates a 30-minute timer synchronized with bombs strategically placed throughout the area. Jun-ho, scaling into the base, notices these bombs ticking away ominously.
Now, onto the heart-wrenching confrontation between Myung-gi and Gi-hun. To commence the final round, the staff activates a bridge connecting Towers 2 and 3. However, Myung-gi seizes the pole and insists that Gi-hun surrender the baby and remain on Tower 2, implying that only Myung-gi and the baby will proceed to the final round. Stunned, Gi-hun fears that Myung-gi intends to sacrifice the baby to ensure the men's victory. He protests that even if he complies, he will still be eliminated for failing to cross Tower 2.
Gi-hun had intended to end his own life and entrust the child to her father, but Myung-gi doesn't trust his intentions. He asserts that people like Gi-hun have continually betrayed him. As their argument escalates, the staff announces that the bridge will be retracted in five minutes. With only 40 seconds remaining, Gi-hun feigns agreement, retrieves his knife from 203's lifeless body on Tower 2, and narrowly makes it to Tower 3 in time.
Cornered, Myung-gi reminds Gi-hun of their original plan, but Gi-hun retaliates that Myung-gi doesn't deserve his sacrifice. Their dispute culminates in a fierce fight, causing the pole to plummet. Desperate, Myung-gi seizes his daughter and threatens to drop her unless he secures the knife. Gi-hun relents, and they clash once more, resulting in both plummeting off the tower. Gi-hun manages to grasp a rod and save himself, while Myung-gi plunges to his demise.
However, since the timer hadn't been activated, the round hadn't officially begun. Thus, Myung-gi's demise proves futile. Regaining his composure, Gi-hun ascends the tower and initiates the round, thrilling the VIPs who anticipate his cruel act of sacrificing the child.
No-eul doesn't merely incinerate 246's record; she obliterates every file within the archive. Her gaze falls upon her own file, detailing the heart-wrenching truth that her husband has been executed and her daughter has perished. As despair envelops her and she prepares to end her own life, the sound of Jun-hee's child wailing pierces the air. Stunned, she witnesses Gi-hun clutching the infant perilously on the tower's precipice. Tears stream down her face as Gi-hun places the child safety on the tower and heroically sacrifices himself. This act of selflessness rekindles her faith in humanity and reinvigorates her will to survive. Determined to live, No-eul flees aboard the staff's escape boat. It's evident that Gi-hun's bravery and altruism have swayed her from the brink of despair.
The VIPs appear jaded as Gi-hun resolves to take his own life. In-ho seems disturbed as Gi-hun's anguished cries echo, denouncing them as bettors on human lives rather than fellow beings. With a leap, Gi-hun ends his own suffering, and Jun-hee's child is deemed the game's victor. Evacuation commences, but In-ho makes a dash for the tower, snatching the baby away. Jun-ho finds himself alone in the deserted VIP suite, gun aimed at In-ho. He demands explanations, but In-ho ignores him, vanishing with the child. Jun-ho narrowly escapes as flames engulf the island, rendering the coast guard's arrival too late. Afterwards, someone lays claim to Gi-hun's remaining prize money.
Six months later, No-eul visits 246, now back at work as a sketch artist at the theme park, posing as a customer. Though 246 senses her familiarity, she feigns ignorance, claiming they were mere colleagues. His daughter has recovered, and No-eul offers her a lollipop before bidding farewell. Her former broker contacts her with astonishing news: her daughter has been sighted in China. Without hesitation, she books a flight. The broker also brings good tidings, locating Sae-byeok's mother and reuniting her with Sang-woo's mother and Sae-byeok's brother, Kang Cheol.
Woo-seok is liberated from prison, where Jun-ho greets him, accompanied by his friend Kim, who apologizes for his shortcomings during their ordeal. With no sight of Gi-hun's corpse, they cling to the hope that he still lives. Woo-seok and Kim decide to revitalize the Pink Motel and turn it into a thriving business. Meanwhile, Jun-ho returns home to find Jun-hee's baby and a bank card left by In-ho, revealing an astonishing sum of 45.6 billion won as her winnings.
What does In-ho uncover during his journey to the United States? Subsequently, In-ho embarks on a visit to Gi-hun's daughter, who resides in the USA. Her initial fury, fueled by her father's prolonged absence, morphs into astonishment when In-ho breaks the heart-wrenching news of Gi-hun's demise. He then hands over a collection of Gi-hun's possessions, among them the uniform from the second game and a bank card bearing the remainder of Gi-hun's prize money.
In a poignant conclusion to Squid Game Season 3 Episode 6, In-ho finds himself momentarily halted at a red light. His gaze drifts to an alleyway where two figures are engrossed in a game of ddakji. To his surprise, one of them is none other than a Squid Game Saleswoman, played in a cameo by Cate Blanchett, accompanied by a prospective participant. The Saleswoman and In-ho exchange knowing smiles before he continues on his way. This encounter hints at the existence of diverse versions of the Squid Game sprawling across the globe, including within the borders of the United States, adding a chilling layer of intrigue to the narrative.
