Stick – Season 1 Episode 3 1

The evening prior to their tournament arrival adds an extra layer of drama when Elena steadfastly refuses to sleep in the RV. Instead, she insists on returning to stay at a nearby motel, much to Mitt's exasperation. These little skirmishes are strategically placed to stretch out the narrative, paving the way for their eventual arrival at the tournament.

Pryce views this event as a mere warm-up, disregarding the importance of victory or defeat, whereas Santi is laser-focused on making a lasting impression. In the meantime, Mitt finds himself stuck cleaning the RV and inadvertently trapped inside the bed. Pryce, on the other hand, is coaxed into striking a deal with fellow golfers concerning his "nephew," Santi. After some hesitation, Pryce eventually caves in and accepts their proposition, setting the stage for an intriguing turn of events.

At the club, Zero, the diligent barmaid, finds herself on the receiving end of Gender discrimination perpetuated by a golfer who dares to grasp her and pepper her with stale, offensive jokes. Reaching her breaking point, she retaliates by dousing him with a pitcher of beer. Subsequently, her boss, Elena, joins in the reprimand, adding insult to injury by splashing water on the offender as well.

Elena storms back to the RV, where she attempts to assist Mitt in extricating himself from the confines of a seemingly malfunctioning bed mechanism. After calling 911 for assistance, the two reconcile, their differences bridged by the urgent situation. Once Mitt is safely out, he confesses to feeling on edge; accustomed to a life shared solely with his wife, he struggles with the recent changes in his circumstances.

Meanwhile, back on the golf course, Santi's promising start takes a series of abrupt turns for the worse, culminating in a six-over-par score on a single hole. Defeated, he tunes out Pryce's harsher-than-usual criticism, influenced no doubt by their current deal.

Ironically, Santi's frustration leads him to an unexpected encounter with Zero. She launches into a tirade about the pitfalls of capitalism and the prevalent hardships, eventually steering the conversation towards Santi's meltdown. Drawing upon her empathy, Zero urges him to reclaim ownership of his talent and refuse to relinquish his power to anyone.

Her words resonate deeply with Santi, who proceeds to ignore Pryce entirely during his golfing rounds. Regaining his composure, he mounts a comeback, ultimately clinching the tournament's prize. Brandishing the trophy, Santi unleashes a torrent of curses at Pryce before exiting triumphantly alongside Zero.
